Adding a 100 Mill contract to his local endorsement dollars this time around would be him doing just fine, too.It's always been about cap hit percentage for every player. We just tend to notice it more in the upper range, and especially when there's big increases in the cap like this.
I'd love for Marner to give us a discount, but it's easy to say that as a fan from the outside. We're not the ones that would be throwing away millions of dollars. Realistically, most people want to be paid what they've earned like everybody else. They make a lot of money, but it's also a short, risky career, and it could be over in an instant.
What's the % of 12.5 on a 95 cap anyway..? 13.2%..?? That's a completely reasonable haul for Mitch or any player of his calibre.
