Yes, the fact he was demoted matters, without question.

Yes, the fact he was demoted matters, without question.
The fact he was demoted before is concerning. The fact the coach promoted because he thought he had legs is too. Ideally, the coach doesn't demote him, and ideally he doesn't need to "look like he had his legs" as the reason he was promoted. But the fact that he then got promoted doesn't matter is what you're saying...
if he injured himself in a fight he picked with a guy who never fights then I consider that a v satisfying outcome
Is that a joke? Mitch got drafted in 15 and played his first game in 16 what are you talking about blaming him for the cup drought you loss me there I’ve yet to see him being blamed for something that his dad probably wasn’t even alive to witnessLeafs fans are frustrated enough for 55+ years, I get that as I watched them win in ‘67 myself. Hockey is an unpredictable sport. Not fair fans blame culminatiion of events since ‘67 on Mitch Marner. Too bad some of them chose to sully up the GDT with their rubbish. I only care to see the Leafs win.
Only you could find a way to be concerned with a player being promoted lmao. The fact he was demoted before is concerning. The fact the coach promoted because he thought he had legs is too. I’m glad someone can notice the difference in a seven game series that will be a problem let’s hope he can dial in the gold medal for game 1 til it endsThe biggest difference in Marner game last night? Last night? he was pro-active. He was pretty agressive on forechecking and didn't wait the play come to him. He took risk, forced mistake from team usa and its pay off. He was all over the ice tonight
First 3 he was passive and didn't really go on forechecking, just waiting to be in good defensive situation without never taking any kind of risk. So had be pretty invisible
Playoffs are going to be real interesting I can’t waitStill not worth more than mstheed but hes gonna get paid well
M Tkachuk 6 ft 2, 202lbsThe Tkachuks are such fake tough guys.
I’d love him on my team I don’t think he’s a fake nothing his comparable and favourite player was perry he plays just like him wouldn’t call perry a fake tough guy Hes a ratM Tkachuk 6 ft 2, 202lbs
picks fight with:
B Hagel 6 ft 2, 180lbs
22lb difference
but turtles from:
Zach Kassian 6 ft 3, 211lbs
9lb difference
A fake tough guy is only going after someone you think you can beat.I’d love him on my team I don’t think he’s a fake nothing his comparable and favourite player was perry he plays just like him wouldn’t call perry a fake tough guy Hes a rat
McDavid and MacKinnon were assertive, but also frequently careless. There is an immaturity in their games and I struggle to consider them true leaders. Hero puck, looking off teammates, turning it over because they were trying to do too much. McDavid was also pretty bad in the finals until the GWG (kind of like Marner against Sweden)Meh, I think Marner and Matthews lack of leadership abilities were apparent in the tourny. The Tkatchuks, Crosby, Mackinnon and Mcdavid looked like true leaders.
Can't underestimate what it does for the team to see Mackinnon, Mcdavid crashing the net, battling physically, shoving opponents and showing the desperation they do in each game. I was impressed how often Crosby, Mackinnon and Mcdavid were around the goalie.
100% no salary cap and of course have him on the team.
He was demoted for 1.5 games out of 4 by the coaching staff...and Marner fans are celebrating like it didn't happen. He looked meh in game 1-3.
Everything we seen from Marner in the tourny is the exact reason sides are divided.
Colorado walked from Rantanen. Marner still is a Rantanen level player. Hes not Mackinnon, Kucherov but he wants to be paid like them.
Only me lol? What?! Your trying to spin a demotion as a good thing? Demoted means the coach had doubts about Marners game. Or thought others would be more effective. Sure a 8 million dollar guy... maybe acceptable. But a 12+ and team leader, not a good thing.Only you could find a way to be concerned with a player being promoted lmao.
Only fan considare line change like demotion or promotion...Mcdavid and marner yes together was playing too much on perimeter, its 2 player who lije to go on open space and use it.
The only difference between marner 1st 3 and yesterday, first 3 he was in reaction and yesterday he was in the action. What does i mean by that. Yesterday he came to TD garden with only one idea, winning.
-Active forechecking vs passive
-no hesitation vs overthinking
forcing opponent to you vs adapt to your opponent
just small detail who made all the difference of the world
Where he’s putting his medal, made a reference to players getting robbed, didn’t want to say lol.
FalseThe Tkachuks are such fake tough guys.
Read please...I said Knies would be treated the same if he asked fir 10.5m.It was pretty similar to the other USA game outside of the fights in the first 10 seconds. It was a big moment, high pressure, passionate, tight checking game, that looked exactly like a game 7 playoff game.
That's literally what just happened.
Lol. You guys will go to any length to dismiss what he does. He's good at generating open space for himself and taking advantage of it, but he didn't "peel off into safe open space". He skated into the middle of the offensive zone and drew multiple opponents to him on his first primary assist. On the second, it's his job to grab the pass around the boards. He did, and made a great pass to the slot. He also went to the net a bunch, but there's also more places on the ice you can be effective from, and some people don't seem to get that. He's earned top tier money. I don't know where you got Knies at 10.5m from. That would be a crazy overpayment.
So if your demoted at work, that means you were doing something right?no it doesn't
I actually agree with you here but your posts read like a d-bag so I hate myself for it.That's fine but when the playoffs hit and instead of the subdued game last night, guys will be looking to put Mitch through the boards.
ECF is where this team needs to hit or else let Mitch go.
Yeah I get that, I'm just saying I felt the same two years ago. I don't remember exactly what was, looking more confident, shooting the puck more, whatever it was I just thought that this time around for sure we'd see him play great in the playoffs because he looked different somehow. For me it's HOW he's playing. I don't care about the stat sheet, he's competing and willing to hit and take hits to make a play. He's getting in on the forecheck, these are things he wasn't doing pre-Berube.
Except you're comparing what would be a massive overpayment to a market value contract, and thinking those should be treated the same.Read please...I said Knies would be treated the same if he asked fir 10.5m.
He is great. Not discussing what Marner does, he is very good at it, it is what he doesn't do that separates him from very very good, to great.
I couldn’t consider him a fake tough guy that’s a harsh take I literally gave you his comparable Hes a rat he tries to throw the other team off their gameA fake tough guy is only going after someone you think you can beat.
That was goofy I didn’t like that one at allHahaha clearly a sore spot for him, since he was robbed in broad daylight in Toronto.
You made it seem like he went from top line to second line you guys have a problem with honesty huh?it’s not the end of the world to agree he got demoted for weak play and got promoted for great play we literally all saw it (well I heard the promotion) like come on manOnly fan considare line change like demotion or promotion...Mcdavid and marner yes together was playing too much on perimeter, its 2 player who lije to go on open space and use it.
