Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

I don’t think you have Mogilny right at all there. He was more of a Nylander by nature, but more sardonic and had the air of being a Soviet defector none of this bothers me, pressure, hockey, media.
I don’t think he got Marner right either, the growing up preveliged part, his dad was Paul Marner ffs.

healthy scratch lmao!
Go ahead and laugh your ass off, but ..

I've suggested Leafs for what its worth make Marner a healthy scratch come playoff time particularly in critical meaningful games later in playoff series.

At least then we would have a reasonable explanation why he never shows up in the boxscore. Marner has never scored a goal in games #5-7 in 9 years so there is really nothing at risk here, where maybe his replacement has a chance at least to contribute to a win.

In embarrassing losses to CBJ and Montreal in previous series he never scored a goal in either entire series and Leafs went home early.

Bringing a butter knife to a gun fight serves little purpose, as sadly 😭 year after painful year, we're left asking where's Mitch, as the team starts looking at tee times in the coming days?

Too bad he was wrong about Marner signing an offer sheet we couldn’t match.

Don't worry. I'm sure he'll have plenty of views on the upcoming Knies offer sheet.

As predicted, he's kissing Marner's ass in the trade forum.

He might. By some for sure, but the majority I think are more mature.
Didn't Tavares say he was staying and then changed his mind?

marner has never really claimed he was a Leafs and wanted to stay a Leafs' player did he?

Oh, never mind.

Mitch Marner has expressed a desire to remain with the Toronto Maple Leafs, stating it's his "goal" to stay with the team long-term. He has emphasized his love for the city and the organization, noting that he has "grown up here". However, despite these desires, contract negotiations have not progressed, and Marner is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. This leaves the possibility of him leaving open, especially as he has reportedly not engaged in serious contract talks with the Leafs.

A 9 year term is long enough.

Yeah, when he said it, it is likely that it was his desire. Other factors around him changed as well for example the coach and GM were fired. Besides, people change their minds all the time as their situations evolve. As for Marner, yeah, he obviously expressed his desire to stay. In fact, you attached an AI overview. It is becoming increasing clear that his mind has changed as well.

Of all the reasons for him leaving, and there are many, I wonder if the coaching/play style is in any way a contributing factor to him leaving? I think you all know I have no use for Marner whatsoever, but I also do not like the way we currently play the game of hockey under Berube. We have to hope that TREE gets more appropriate players and that Lalonde makes big contributions.

I simply cannot wait until July 1st when this guy becomes a Vegas Knight.

The way this is playing out, it seems pretty clear that he was lying.

I want to trade Matthews to a rival of whatever team Marner signs with. That way we can rebuild and people can debate who is better in the playoffs.
