Last year, last 2 years, last 4 years, last 5 years, last 6 years, and last 7 years, Marner does not have more points (and he certainly isn't even close in goals). And we don't even have to look at ice time!

I didn't start this comparison. The main reason why a lot of the children on this forum wanted Mitch gone is because he disappears in Games 6 and 7. How did McDavid do in the SCF in Games 6 this year and in Games 6 and 7 in the SCF last year. Just saying, if we are going to have a standard that games 6 and 7 are everything when it comes to evaluating a hockey player, what is good for the Mitch is good for the Connor.

If Mitch leads the team to two cup finals in a row, nobody wants him gone.

this is textbook deflecting lol, it's just a lazy and unimpressive attempt to get the talk away from marner and onto matthews. Whether it applys to matthews or not is irrelevent when discussing Marner himself, especially when the quote you replied to was about people constantly putting down better elite players to find ways to make marner look better. No one is doing that about Matthews, only Marner is getting this treatment right now and tbh he has always gotten it.

Its actually crazy that some people are so deep into the marner delusion that they either don't accept the deflection or don't know what deflecting really is.
