How heavily should one weigh games 5-7? I am trying to figure out the criteria?

McDavid doesn't seem to do well in close out games vs Florida... should he be put down the list of best players? That seems to be shared with the Leafs...

Since you like to use raw points, then fine. Kucherov 171 points in 152 playoff games. McDavid 150 points in 96 playoff games. Marner 63 points in 70 playoff games. But yea, Marner is better than Kuch. And McDavid is just like all the other Leafs players.

Okay, so now Marner is the best playoff performer on the Leafs if we are doing points, right?

It is just hard to keep up with the different arguments of why Marner is terrible, because it always makes someone else look terrible despite being a great playoff performer...

My takeaway.

Our guys have hardly any PIM. It's almost as if they get really mad and care about winning to the point that they are willing to beat people up.

And we pay too much for what we get

are you saying they aren't comparable because they play different teams? If so then how can you compare players in the playoffs at all since everyone plays different teams.

Against florida alone marner has 1 point, the assist in game 6 this year in 4 games vs the 5 in 5 mcdavid has

if mcdavid produces that much better than marner against one of the best teams, I find if very hard to believe he would be sub .5ppg against boston, montreal, columbus, and tampa.

The funny thing about the World Championship being easier to win is Nylander beat Marner in the gold medal game.

Also why do people try and post pics or cap hits of players who didn't even play in our bottom 6 to try and justify Florida spending less on theirs? Just ignore the actual bottom 6 players like Laughton, Lorentz, Holmberg, Robertson, Patches, McMann, Jarnkrok and Domi. Only 2 of those names making more than 2 mil and they make 2.1 and 3.75. The rest are all below 1 mil except McMann who is just above. Florida had 4 mil sitting in their press box while we had around the same if you want to consider Reaves a Leafs player at the time when he was a Marlie and only called up to be around the guys.

Well chief, that all depends on how you measure success. But the fact that you would make judgements about someone who you know nothing about, only goes to show how upset you are that you're out of arguments.

Marner's a loser. You hate to admit it but you have no arguments left so now you're insulting the messenger. That says something about you, and it's not something positive. We're all wrong sometimes, it's not that big a deal but how you behave in moments like this says a lot about who you are as a person.

So total playoff points are what matters?

Marner has more playoff points than matthews and Nylander.

My point was you joined in May 2025, specifically to post only in the Marner thread right before Marner is to be a UFA.

I joined in 2007, Marner was about 10 years old, and Ive been consistently active since joining.
