... why, Marners game 5-7 are very very bad AND his overall stats are just as bad. A 13 goal pace in the playoffs since his huge payday in 2019 is absolutely horrific lol.

Btw I recently discovered an article in 2019 discussinf Marners contract. It indicated how its very possibly that it was a bad contract and the author cited that of all the % of the cap contracts that were similar to Marners in 2019, only Marner without goal scoring acumen.

I think we all noticed how cute passing is alot less inportant than goal scoring once playoffs roll around.

Then again, Marners playmaking has always been incredibly overrated. Amazing playmaker only when he has an elite goal scorer on his line.... hmm?

Marner and the core 4 tank big time in playoffs. Especially in games 5-7 when it counts most to close off a series. These idiots even had 3-2 series leads and blew it. And they were up on Panthers 2-0 this year.

Many times Marner also does highlight reel turnovers leading to the other team scoring too. He's got a big boner for doing blind drop passes or wild spinning passes hoping someone is there. And then an opposing team guy just grabs the puck and scores on transition. That's what kids playing street hockey do goofing around and MM is doing this in the playoffs.

The funny thing is Leafs playoff goaltending most of the time the past 10 years is actually pretty good overall. Check Freddie Anderson's playoffs. He had solid playoff years, including one season which would be as good as Hasek. But they couldnt beat Blue Jackets making Korpisalo look like an MVP! Leafs still lost because guys like Marner consistently bomb out in the playoffs.

It's no one off years either. But consistently bad in playoffs, especially late in the series. That's why they've only won 2 series past 10 years. Dont blame the goaltending. It's forwards like Mitch.

Yes, that's the whole point. Some games are more important than others. Some games have more pressure than others. Some games, if won, will advance your team in the playoffs. And in those games, Marner disappears and does nothing.

Well if we are including Jr’s, JT back to back golds at the WJC, scoring 8 goals 7 assists in the 6 games, winning tournament MVP in 2009. JT also won gold at the olympics.

I used the full playoffs that the poster I was responding to used, and just separated it into early and late games, which, as I said, confirmed the pattern which has been obvious for several years.

Marner has the most points and usually wins when on the ice.
