Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

Wow. Another social media defense team account comes right out of the woodwork. What a coincidence! The desperation of the Marner Camp is obvious.
I love when people make burner accounts and then post stuff in weird ways - small disjointed paragraphs, weird indents, purposeful spelling errors, weird spaces/or lack of spaces between characters - just to hide who they are. LOL

Man I don't know what you think you see but I am not defending anybody but spreading the blame around.
But you go right ahead and let your Marner hate give you reason to post for at least another 11 days.

I am curious though as to which guy you were, the one that threw trash on his lawn or threatening him and his dog?

I bet your hate runs deep enough that you will follow him to his new team and post there regularly.
Have fun with that.
Thanks for proving my point. So obvious.

not for what he's asking.

He has to drive his own line for that money *AND HE CANT*.
For the money he's rumored to be asking he better be a top 10 player in the NHL on a nightly basis while not being on a line with Matthews. Dude might get two more mil a year then rantinin

I still can't believe this Marner super trashing is still going on.
Marner,Marner,Marner,it is all his fault good riddance.
From using made up or unsubstantiated stuff from the media to twisting stories around to fit whoevers narrative.

I'm hoping Marner gets as much money as humanly possible from a team that the Leafs hope to run over on their way towards the Stanley Cup.

Saying that based on the knowledge knowing how detrimental overpaying of players in a Salary Cap World can be, and how it will directly impact a teams competitiveness at the expense of its own depth and supporting cast that surrounds it.

When Mitch is making the highest salary in the NHL its going to come with massive expectations from the fan base to not only contribute but LEAD a team offensively at the most critical times. Marner can't come playoff time show his current contract has any real return on investment, so increasing the $$ will only increase the pressure on him and make that task even harder.

So bring it on I say, So thankful that its not my Leafs that will be foolishly going down this road.

Exactly. 9 years of futility in the post-season, but we should give him a raise? Here's hoping Dubas signs him again.
Well, the good news for Marner if he goes to the Penguins is he won’t have to worry about performing in the playoffs, because they won’t be making it anytime soon.

They all need to be gone. Your point?

There are about 5 people on here willing to admit this.

Your deadpan biting sarcasm is right on. Did you have a different username of a poster I admired perhaps?

Look at his posts from the second before it was clear that Marner was gone to see bax cry about how people are too mean to Marner. And are "fake fans".

I don't think so.
when they paid up for Nylander ... I knew Marner was gone.

when they kept floating deals for Marner ... I really knew he was gone.

Tre picked Nylander over Marner.

They panicked because Marner wouldn't negotiate with them as they desperately tried to overpay him. They've still been trying to sign him since then. Don't underestimate how pathetic MLSE is. These are the same idiots that think the Florida series shows that the Leafs are close.

We typically discuss Nylander’s issues and Matthews issues in their own threads. There’s no need to try and divvy up the blame share cake here. This slice is Mitch’s.

Those threads are dead except when people get mad at the 5 people on here that criticize them. If anything this thread should be dead because Marner's already gone. He's no longer a problem so all the people that totally ;) believe that Matthews and Nylander are issues can move on to them but instead I expect more Simon Benoit and Domi threads as usual. . Instead, these people are making hilarious statements like:

- "But Nylander and Matthews haven't disappeared in the last half of every single playoff series"
- "They never acted like any criticism was some personal slight from a toxic fanbase."
- "They can go rot in Utah if they aren't willing to try in a game 7 here."

It wasn't too long ago when those people like bax were in threads crying that I criticized Marner, but now they have the courage to speak up while ignoring everyone and everything else. When Matthews pulls chute after doing nothing again for two more seasons, people will suddenly find the courage to talk about reality. Too bad it's a decade late and completely pointless then.

Nylander didn't have a coach he didn't like fired, didn't get to play with preferable linemates or ice time, didn't get a big $ player friendly extension, and didn't get an A.

Matthews falls somewhere between.

He absolutely did. Except for wearing the A... except for the times he did wear the A.

And Matthews is not in-between, he's more guilty than anyone but his thread is dead. Instead people want to beat the horse that died 5 years ago.

Well Mess, other GMs will have to learn what all of us already know... likely, the hard way.

I have decided that i dont think leafs will be better without Marner. I dont trust the management to handle any extra money at all. Still want him gone.
As long as Matthews is the leader there’s a decent chance they’ll never be in Cup contention so they may as well keep the money.

Well the Leafs may have struggled to make the playoffs this season if it wasn’t for their goalies bailing them out of many games.

If the Leafs play very good hockey they’re a playoff team. It may not mean first in the Atlantic next year but they’ll get in. Some things may improve if Mitch leaves. Maybe more freedom/puck movement on the PP. Matthews maybe a different player and more engaged or more dangerous because the Marner look for 34 isn’t there anymore. We’ll have to wait and see but Matthews was a much better player with Bertuzzi and Domi as his linemates.
