Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

do we @ 10?

fact of the matter is he is a 50 point player who through the ages of 25-28 missed 13 games a year on average.

Is a 30+ year old bennett going to hold up better? Is his style going to go unnoticed under the bright lights in toronto? Is his style going to be even more scrutinized since our team plays the opposite of him vs florida where he fits in with ogres like tkachuk, ekblad, rodrigues, marchand, and others?

Bennett is an amazing player, but unless someone can build a time machine to take the universe back to 2021 and slap the shit out of dubas and force a trade for a 2nd to calgary, then the bennett ship has passed

He'll be in the penalty box every game and Parros will suspend him for tripping calls.

One thing I'm going to disagree with is no PP1 time, he's still an extremely good PP producer and it would be a waste not using him on the 1st unit

Fitting him under the cap wouldn't be easy for Vegas or Florida, I have doubts Florida would want him anyway

The teams he fits best are the up and coming teams with cap space, he seems to want good capped out teams

Should be interesting where he ends up

He can be someone else's Marleau/Tavares.

Well in my mind with those trade, there will be 5 players better suited to play PP1 than JT.

I can really see Vegas signing MM as it fits both of them.

Vegas gets a playmaker for Eichel. MM plays on a team where he is in the Beta or even Charlie role despite his contract amount.

Win win for both sides

I don't think anyone can be certain which way this will go so question for those who think it could go either way - what are the odds he's a Leaf when the season starts?

I ask because I made a bet on it today with a friend. Not a lot of money, just a fun bet and I'm curious as to what people think.

I'd say it's about a 10% chance he returns.

I think if he came back for 9-10 million, fans could somehow accept that as it would leave us some money for an upgrade. I don't think he'd accept that amount, and I'm not even sure he'd want to be here regardless.

Gross. How, just a week after what just happened, is he thinking, "I'd like to be teammates with those guys!"? He should hate those motherf***ers.
He is a Toronto Boy who wants to to see the Leafs win... if he goes to Florida he will be doing that. Unfortunately for us, Zito is much to smart of a GM. He wont touch Marner with a 13.5 foot pole.
