This clip makes me sad for Mitch. Looks like a guy that knows its over, a Toronto kid who's dream is ending.
I just don't think he'll be offered the rumoured $13.5 x 8 (or 7) that he rejected the Leafs for. He'll be lucky to get $13 x 7 from another team, and I think it's closer to $12 x 7.Is anyone else hoping that Bitch Marner doesn't get offered the amount he wants and is left hanging for a while, then has to accept a deal at a lower salary than he is currently getting? I want reality to kick him in the teeth.
You've never heard 'snowflake'??? Where the f**k have you been for the last five (or more) years? It is a very common term.
Olaf from frozen was called a snowflake and it spiralled from there.Genuinely have not. Outside of hf boards I don’t spend a lot of time on socials. Im usually out, playing sports, active outside? Where would I see someone call someone a snowflake? I’m a teacher as well, my students have never used the term snowflake either, though they use a lot of different colourful language. I just have never really seen the term “snowflake” used in person or online.
Idk we just called people a p***y or pansies. Snowflake sounds like a dumb new age term. When did it become the new thing?
This has already been answered - in this forum, many, many times. It's really hard to see how someone who spends as much time here as you do would never have seen this.Genuinely have not. Best move we can make is to flip his negotiating rights for a 3rd. He will want maximum bag with the least amount of responsibility. He will also want a medium to low media market.
He won't be able to play with former team mates because people like O'Reilly etc, will not vouch for him.
What does that possible trade mean to you then? You don't see value in it?You seem to think this proves that Marner is as valuable as Rantanten, but it doesn't. That's all there is to it really.
He can approve a flip of the rights, can he not?He has a NMC so cannot be flipped.
ROR already has done so.

EDIT* just googled it and it became popular with the US politics discussions apparently? Makes total sense why I would not know it, I could give two f***s about politics and engaging in that kind of discussion. Seems like it’s a political term people use to describe others in political debates.

Publicly.. right. Privately?
I assume you want to resign this guy.

Not just that, I would literally steer clear of any Ferris players when drafting or trading. He does well by his clients I guess, but he is also causing a toxic Haves and Have nots with his greediness. BTW...interesting fact on Ferris is that he charges way less than other agents do as far as % of the deal he makes. That is one more reason to stay away from his clients. If they are nickel and diming agents...what are they going to do to your team?I agree. That's why I call Marners agent today and tell him The Toronto Maple Leafs have NO INTENTION in offering him a contract EVER!
It isn't just a political term, it is a common one that is used all over the place - in person, on TV, in the media, etc.
I'm a professor and my students use it, and they didn't just learn it when they hit post-secondary. The term is literally everywhere.
I wouldn't give him a tribute that lasted longer than 15 seconds if at all. He milked the team, blocked a trade where we could have at least salvaged something and then walks away after lighting the house on fire. That first game back for Mitch with his new team watching his video tribute will look and feel pretty awkward for him.
As an outsider just reading, it's a little weird. Especially for a teacher. It's just common knowledge so it kind of seems like you're doubling down on being ignorant knowing you knew. But anyways. It really doesn't matter lol all good.I mainly spend time in the Marner thread, prospects thread and GDT. And even then i don’t read every post, usually ones that I get tagged in or the ones with lots of reactions. I don’t get why it’s a big deal that I don’t know this term LOL

As for Marner.
I don't feel sorry for him or sad. This is professional sports. You get paid millions. You clearly shrink when the pressure is on and that's not going to work in the Mecca of hockey Sir.
Go make your 13 million in Utah. You're a coward that has never taken a game over in the playoffs. Nobody will win with you taking up 13 million. Mark my words.
You were my favorite Leaf.

O'Reilly was pushing Trotz to try to trade for him last off season . I know Mitch is this years favorite whipping boy but they'll be teams lining up to bid for his services if he chooses to walk .Best move we can make is to flip his negotiating rights for a 3rd. Vegas?
Carolina?

For sure teams will be lining up.. We should not be one of them.O'Reilly was pushing Trotz to try to trade for him last off season . I know Mitch is this years favorite whipping boy but they'll be teams lining up to bid for his services if he chooses to walk .
It isn't a big deal, but it is interesting.
My adult kids know it.
I'd guess my age group has heard it.
Kids today know it.
That's quite the age group, in my world, that know it.
My parents and MIL, recently departed age 90's probably didn't.
As I say, just interesting.
Somewhere in your research you've stumbled upon it not being used in black spaces?I’ll just be frank to give context, I’m a black man, who hangs out with other black people. Who teaches in a primarily black area. Truthfully I have never seen the term used, it’s not something that’s used in black spaces. I’m not into politics and even on here I’m pretty selective in the threads that I view. So yeah today was my first time being called a snowflake by anyone online or seeing it used as an insult of some sort. So I don’t really care if it’s come across as me being ignorant to it, if it’s not something that’s regularly used around me
