Some hard decisions and sober realities. It isn't just over for Marner imo, this feels like it's over for the whole core. The psychological damage is obvious, even Nylander when the pressure came, he cracked. Reilly is an absolute mental case. Matthews is a jittery mess. Berube must be in shock, seeing just how deeply flawed this group is inside. There is literally no comparable in sport. The talent is there, doesn't matter anymore, fresh starts for them and this franchise is the only answer. Doubt they have the stones to admit it though.

They don’t have to spend all the money this off-season. That’s my fear, is they will blow their load this off season and hand out horrible contracts.

He made some plays in the second half of the first...the team played well from the 10 minute mark though the penalty kill. But that was it. After that it was full panic. No poise or composure.

Yeah, these guys are mentally scarred at this point. Impossible to not be. And to lose like they did just emphasizes that.

I mean, I'll still watch and cheer but no way any of these guys can deliver.
