Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

I didn't mind it. We could have used that over the years.
I Would LOVE if Marner brought that passion every game or even every 5. Thats a leader, that is emotion and fire. but he did it this game because he is mad because he stands to lose alot personally from losing this game. Not because he hates losing and really wants to win a cup. We know this because its the first time he has ever showed it.

Among the many serious mistakes made in this era was Tree not trading marner before the nmc kicked in because he was still studying the team

We're trading him for $11 million in cap space. That's still a big haul even if not the king's ransom it could have been.

I think the end of his runway with the Leafs may have caught him off guard. Maybe he didn't think it was going to end like this, not in his hands. The way he was yelling at the bench, maybe it dawned on him the era slipped away.

Honestly, the real takeaway was none of players were superstars, allstars sure.

Top 10 players? Naw.

The problem I have with it - if you're gonna go screaming at your teammates, then f***ing play like it too.
He cant... he hasnt trained his body to be physically ready for it. A light hit and he is flying to the ice like hes in a jackie chan movie. He plays perimeter hockey all season, he isnt gonna just be able to turn on playoff style hockey and excel.

I said it all $%$* year. His offense is not playoff offense.

Damn I missed that I stopped watching after 3 -0

To borrow a basketball concept, it's like we have 4x DeMar DeRozan's.
Nah Derozan was bad outside of the stats. A mid range chucker, who can't play defence.

Literally the opposite of what you want in NBA. I don't even get what's wrong with our guys, they have the talent imo, unlike Derozan who every advanced stats said was a fraud.

Lowry was loved compared to Derozan by advanced stats.

Fitting end for this bozo:

Refuses a trade for a real player like Rantanen so he can let us down one last time. The funny thing is that he would've 100% benefited from going to Carolina himself, but he was too stupid to see that.

He really is one of the worst Leafs of all time, others may have sucked in that jersey, but they will never match Mitch's softness/greed and childish arrogant behavior.

It really sucks. Mitch seems like a good guy and he does some good charity work off the ice. I really wanted him and this core to work and have success together, but man after tonight its sad to say goodbye but its necessary. Really can't have him back even if it really stinks to lose such a talented player and a local guy for nothing.

Good riddance. Honestly such a loser and can’t wait for him to leave.

And I do feel bad he’s got the brunt of our anger this year. Matthews deserves just as much but Marner’s contract is done so he gets the most of it. But honestly **** Matthews too.
His contract thing is his fault too. The Leafs management wanted to extend him for some reason.

Probably more, we get in cap space what he ends up signing for somewhere else.
