Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

Imagine if they had signed him before the TDL like some of the Marner fanboys said they would.

Hate to tell you I told you so, but I told you so. Do not sign this clown until after the playoffs. Still can't believe the f***ing Leafs' management would have signed him if he was willing to negotiate. Wake up you f***ing idiots.

The proper play was to trade him for assets when you could.

There was enough proof in the pudding

Now he’s walking and the team has nothing to move forward with

They have $13m in cap space and if spent wisely they can be better in the playoffs without him. The guy has virtually been one of the worst Leafs in this series.

They're going to over pay this summer, big time. So many teams have space, it's going to be a shit show we haven't seen in a long time.
They have to find wys to overpay without affecting the AAV like they did with Tanev. As good as Tanev has been, that was an overpay if we only get 3 good years out of him.

I don't see any FA's who will come here and make us better, Ehlers is no answer and forget about Bennett. We will be forced to overpay some energy guys, it's a shame we couldn't have made a trade, to me this idea of cap space being equal isn't going to pan out.

Don’t spend cap for the sake of it.

Matthews isn’t the guy and they just need to ride out the mediocrity for a bit to rebuild around guys like Knies who have a better knack in big moments.

They also have some longer deals for aging d-men so cap flexibility on futures RFA’s is key.

Now is the time to just step back and hit the reset. They’re not winning under Matthews leadership

Then you have to trade him. They will not take a step back IMO.
