Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

He pretty much won’t be caught dead in front of the net or even in the slot, which is why he goal scoring drops off a cliff in the playoffs.

Still provides value elsewhere. Question is, do you pay a guy who clearly is not a game breaker in the playoffs 13M a year.
If I were a GM, I wouldn't pay any one a number made up in the media. I would enter in to negotiations and go from there.

Outside of the entire Panthers team getting food poisoning an hour before the game, it's not a likely scenario. The Champs have showed up and decided that they are going to round 3. Since period 2 of game 3 the Panthers have decidedly taken over the series.... there is a better chance I win the lottery tonight vs Leafs winning in Sunrise.

... (running to check my lottery tickets) ...

50% on here? Man, read the thread we're posting in. There's less than 10 people who still defend this guy, (and I'm counting you to get there), the rest is a dogpile. Outside you've got kids and the occasional person who like him, but I'm counting them to get to 10%.

Your numbers were optimistic on the day you made your account, but they ain't even close any more. This is one of those wacky posts where you're trying to tell me to disbelieve my lyin' eyes. I've been around here long enough to know who's who in the zoo, and boy let me tell you that the animals are restless.

There are a lot of posters who simply dont want to get drawn into the stupidity of judging a player for 1 to 3 games a year... there are still quite a few people , i think 70% is a fair assessment, that want Mitch to stay.

Marner had a great game. He's was great on PK

It was his play at the Panthers blueline that kept the Leafs season alive. Granted Mattys goal was super lucky, you simply don't beat Bob down low. Without Mitch standing up at the blueline and that beauty of a pass, it's a different game.

Ill be the first one to admit that he was spectacular defensively today, but he needs to STOP shooting it from the blueline at the PP, it will never work against the Panthers.
Not on the PP, but he does have two from there in the series; one he scored himself, and one that resulted in a rebound Knies banged in. What they really need now is for either Matthews or Nylander to start ripping shots at the net, so the Panthers can't sell out for the point shot (which is what they've been doing since Game 3).

All depends on the price, right. The higher it goes the less want him to stay
