He built one the softest Leaf team ever if not the softest ever...after Dubas became GM, there was a period of about 3 years when the Leafs were physically intimidated game in and game out with no pushback...in a way, Dubas has some responsibility for the development of the young core at the time...he didn't protect them on the ice and allowed them to be bullied by other teams...Dubas was the worst thing to have happened for this team...Shanahan is also a big problem.

Agree here. Dubas penchant for small players was insanely concerning for a sport that requires physicality. How many chances did dubas give to denis malign yet traded away marchment without blinking an eye. It was after 3 years of skill skill skill he realized the error of his ways and try to crazy glue and duct tape aging physical players to the core 4. I hate dubas and I hate shanahan. They are both morons
Shanahan is a shocker...the guy was tough as nails as a player, and played on a very talented, but tough Detroit team...why the heck did he allowed Dubas to build such a buttery soft team? Probably a riddle for the Sphinx.
