I don't know how anybody can defend this anymore.

The bigger the game the smaller Marner plays. You could actually see him shrink into his thumb sucking mode as the game got more physcially aggressive. He probably cried in the dressing room afterwards too

Berube and Treliving should be done with this loser by now.

Too many lazy mistakes. Too many times not paying the price. Too many no shows when it matters most.

The best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour. And Marner has repeatedly proven himself a choker. He'll goose egg the rest of the series and walk to a team desperate for regular season performance.

Unless he was practicing good hygeine while coughing I'm not sure what other interpretation you can give.

I don't know. We would have to see the lead upto it. He hasn't been seen covering his face before nor does he wear a full face shield as you suggested someone afraid of the puck would do. If you want me to guess, I'd say he got clipped though just like any other reason one frame is not going to give us anything.

Meanwhile the player Leaf tried to trade Marner for Mikko Rantanen is tearing up the NHL playoffs with 10 games 9 goals 9 assists 18 points. He is an absolute beast in the playoffs.

He is low energy and more concerned about avoiding contact. FLA does give a F and are on him like crazy and watch how he fell apart last night.

He never is, he is too afraid of physical play.

Below is a screenshot from game 3. The puck is being passed to the point and Marner is covering his face with his glove (afraid of injury) and the puck is long from reaching the defender. He is doing this all the time...Ive never seen another player do it. If a player is fearing injury in playoff hockey like he does, good luck!

This is why you cannot pay this guy $13+m and continue running them back. The door to the SC is open with the winner of Wash/Car waiting for them but they were not able to break it down in Florida. The door is still open but it will be all but closed if they play scared on Wednesday.
