Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

lol... why would a veteran player who is known for his hockey IQ make a Triple A pass to no one in the neutral zone in Game Five of a playoff series against the defending Cup Champs? That play was terrible and he's really struggled offensively in this series. He can't control the puck like he used to and seems to have lost quite a bit of speed and shiftiness.

I don't know how much of it is because of Berube's system, but this guy really struggles with puck possession nowadays. He seems to have a hard time making skillful plays with the puck when he gets pressured by good defensive teams.

Losing him for nothing was the only unacceptable outcome.

Tre tried but his hands were tied
Yep. Sucks that we can't recuperate anything for him. Honestly, we should probably try to re-sign him and just keep going around in circles until we can trade him for something.

F U hater

Mitch is one of the best two way players in the league / THE BEST winger in playoff hockey over the last 4 seasons.

He'll win us this series just yet and shut you haters up!
He's sooooooooooooo good defensively. He def doesn't have a looooong lowlight real of complete backbreaking turnovers/stupid plays in the postseason.

No thank you. He plays another postseason and he'll be a negative asset.
I’m hoping he wants to go somewhere like Vegas and something moderately useful shakes free.

Like Hague/karlsson or something.

Get him the 8 years and they need to get space anyway.

If he wants la/Anaheim etc they don’t need space

Lot of no life haters in here who just can't appreciate what an elite player we have here, fanbase doesn't deserve him anyway.
Both things are true, this is one motley crew of loserville, don't kid yourself, Marner aside. There's sound critiques, then there is this place.

He won't be back, because he won't want to come back and we will feel the same. Unless they turn it around this series, it's over. I've always felt we need to make to third round to change the narrative and still keep the core. This flame out, if it ends Friday, it's done imo.

Ending the era at this point is fine. We've all seen enough.

Thanks God. He can't leave soon enough. Wish we at least got something for him.
