The 2nd game hits different.

STANLEY CUP WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Haha, that would be a treat man. Next two games are gonna be the hardest test for the top line. I want nothing more for Matthews and Marner and Nylander to lead the charge.

I’ll be happy with a 1-1 split or a sweep in Florida.

He was rather quiet offensively for much of Game Two, but he deserves credit for that goal.

It was timely and that has to be one of the best shots I've ever seen from him. I couldn't believe he put that much velocity on the puck. He should shoot more.

For my money he had his most cerebral playoff game as a Leaf. The goal was a bonus. He made the smart decisions along the boards that I would usually see Matthews make. On the PK, with a minute left in the game and Panthers pressing. Just complete zen in his decisions.

Just eliminating his 1-2 high risk passes that go the other way for goals this year has been a major improvement when each win is such a battle to obtain. He dumped it in a couple of times today to get fresh legs rather than try and create what isn't there.

So one poster, not saying who but was complaining about Marner, saying he "hides" at the point because he is not a physical player and is not clutch...

Uhhh... point shot and GWG.... kinda love how Marner consistently trolls this "fan" by driving wins, by doing exactly what this "fan" try's to tell us is why Mitch is such a worthless player...

Good for Mitch I'm sure the last couple of days has been a whirlwind with the birth of his son a few days ago.

This team feels different.

Interesting on Leafs postgame, they're making the point that the other two are playing, it's Matthews that's letting them down. I agree actually, Marner and Knies are doing their roles, the sniper isn't.

Last year Matty could Jedi Knight think the puck into the net, this year he couldn't drive it into the net with a bulldozer... he's still incredible without it though but it would be nice for Matty to go all world in Sunrise.

I think if Maurce has his way he is going to use the Barkov line vs the Nylander line, hopefully that allows Matty to have more time and space.

2 game in a row than Marner doing a key play at a pretty important moment...

goal right after tying goal but game 1 if play to allow knies to go on breakaway b6 givimg the stick battle vs Schmidt. If marner is not there and making an great play there, knies never go in breakaway and maybe leafs lost it

great to see every one of core 4 stepping up somewhere to make the difference

Matty has lost his MoJo ...
As long as the team is winning it doesn't matter if Matthews or Benoit scores. Just win.

He has a point a game and his line played many minutes tonight.

I'm betting he is injured and can't do all he normally does, however, he is still very strong with his stick, winning battles and keeping the opposition of the scoreboard. This is invaluable especially in the playoffs where every team will present multiple threats each game.

Just win, that's all. If he captains a Cup he will be immortalized.

Pronger "of the core 4, Nylander brings it every night in the playoffs, big game player"

Pronger "Nylander is putting the team on his back"
Marner and Matthews could be but their ridiculous salary demands just add added pressure to their play making it almost impossible to live up too. Nylander locked it down long term at a good amt and plays with zero pressure, and it shows.

Knies has been quite easily the best player on that line. Hes noticeable almost every shift. Forechecking, hitting, speed, defensive stick, screening the goalie...

I loved the way he was in front of the Florida net, moving his upper body back and forth, must be driving the goalie crazy. Right now it feels like if we can lock him up for 7 years at 9 million a year, it'll probably look like a bargain in a few years. A legit power forward with speed and a great pair of hands, seems like there's nothing this kid can't do. And that motor, that energy, what a beauty!

Fortunate he plays with Knies. If the screen isnt there, Bob stops that shot with his eyes closed.

Someone said they record every game. Tell me how many times Marner stood in front of the goalie. Because I didn't see him there once all third. And I never see him there...which I've pointed out for a long long time.

Its all about going to the net. Berube reiterated it before this game ...yet Marner still is never ever there.

But hey... it doesnt matter that he doesnt right? Yet... he doesnt score if Knies isnt there today? Hmm interesting.

Leafs best forwards these playoffs:

Nylander
Knies
....
I understand Mitch playing over a point per game (10 pts in 8 games) and scoring the game winner in game 2 of the second series is problematic for some but if you were actually a fan of the team you should be enjoying the crow he has consistently shoved down your throat this post season. It is okay to be wrong. It is okay to enjoy life. Leafs have won 6 out of 8 games. Mitch is only behind Willy in points on the team this post season while going head to head against 2 Selke level players. He set up the game winner in game 1 of the 2nd series as well. He is a set up man that is picking up points and scoring clutch goals.

LOL, take it easy there chief. Marner's been good, but he hasn't been THAT good. Wait until the playoffs are over before chirping would be my advice. GLG!!

Delusional to think this is acceptable from M and M, sniffing that copium.
