That’s certainly not unreasonable.Between Nylander and Matthews

Keys to the city. Human sacrifice. Secret to immortality.I think they felt like they couldn’t afford him and Makar long term. If i may ask, in your opinion, what do you feel is a fair estimate for Mitch Marner’s new contract?
Between Nylander and Matthews
I think he stays but we’ll see.He could take 12.93 and the fans would like it.
I still think he may be gone. No conversations is weird. Ferris literally had hall sign mid playoffs.
I think he stays but we’ll see.
They’ll be some that won’t be happy at any number he signs.
This is Toronto. Who wants to win in the regular season? We are not here to sell jerseys. If you want to win in the regular season Marner is your guy
If you want to win championships Moose is your guy
Both players are needed in their own way

With Rantanen, Matthews and Nyander, you will make the playoffs and probably do damage. With Marner, well you know the rest. It’s just tough to even make the playoffs now.
You have to make the playoffs first. Many good teams didn’t make it.
After what rantanen just did to his former team **** him and his 13.5I think he signs for 13.5 if he stays, and that’s with the hometown discount.
Hall isn’t his prize possessionHe could take 12.93 and the fans would like it. I think he pushes to be the highest paid leaf. Like 13.5. The ego is too much. I don’t want to lose him for nothing. So you could sign him and trade him later.
I still think he may be gone. No conversations is weird. Ferris literally had hall sign mid playoffs.
If the Leafs offered $13.5m he probably would have signed IMO. Rumour is Leafs ceiling was $13m. Now we wait to see if Marner can help beat the Panthers. If not, he's gone IMO.I think he signs for 13.5 if he stays, and that’s with the hometown discount.
That's right. For the sake of the team, let's put the knives away for a sec - and hope EVERYONE brings it.Now we wait to see if Marner can help beat the Panthers. If not, he's gone IMO.
The fact that they wanted Marner and Knies tells you all you need to know.Look at Rantanen’s playoff numbers. They are disgusting.
It would be insane to pay Marner more than this guy.
Conversely the Vegas Knights and the ultimate churn and burn team, and won despite being an expansion team, which you mentioned, which obviously means there needs to be a balance.Rantanen's game isn't the dunk Marner detractors think it is. It's a cautionary tale. You pay your best players. Period. You can be ruthless and win sometimes, like a Vegas has - but you can be ruthless and painfully lose in gut-wrenching fashion like Colorado has. And you DON'T under any circumstances - want to be Colorado here.
Good wake up call for everybody not pulling for ALL our Leaf Boyz, to get the f on board and support these dudes through this 2nd round. Get on side, fellas. Change your narratives, at least for this round. They're gonna need everyone of us with them, I believe.
The better defender is only good when it comes with equal or better offense side bar where the hell was makar there was no Heiskanen and he was a ghost looks a lot less shiny after this post seasonConversely the Vegas Knights and the ultimate churn and burn team, and won despite being an expansion team, which you mentioned, which obviously means there needs to be a balance.
It isn't about dunking on Marner, it's about accurately evaluating players. Rantanen is better than Marner.
A lot of people specifically in this thread have a hard time admitting it. 99% of the NHL fandom outside of Leafs fans would take Rantanen over Marner.
All I can say is the people who think Ottawa proved anything are hilariously wrong. Florida series will be an actual test to see if we're just 2nd round bounced every year or a serious contender.
Here is what Rantanen did in game #7.After what rantanen just did to his former team **** him and his 13.5
Sure, but it didn't help the Leafs, so who cares?Rantanen 4 points in game 7 today. He had double the points in today's game 7 than Marner has total in five game 7's.
Marner fans can keep convincing Marner is better but thats not reality
