What happens if he misses the games and the leafs still shit the bed? Are the fans gonna blame him or what?
Absolutely they would

Availability should not be in question. Many players have had kids during or around playoff series and they play.
Get on zoom in the intermission, heck do it on the bench. The kid will understand his multimillionaire athlete father had to work for his future trust fund.
If we follow that crazy backwards logic, it means he must be signed and they have to find a way to get rid of everyone else. What happens if he misses the games and the leafs still shit the bed? Are the fans gonna blame him or what?
You've of course conveniently failed to mention that you also cut out sentences from my post.Lol. Separating each of the questions you asked and responding to them in order is not changing your posts. It's common practice on message boards to make what's being addressed more clear and organized. You've just realized that you're wrong, so you're deflecting.
People quote what they're responding to. It is not my job to clutter and confuse my posts reposting all the filler nonsense you put in yours. I answered all of your questions. What do you feel was not addressed? You didnt remove any of my post?
Really??No, the average distance dropped off in the 2023 playoffs, and I literally just explained why multiple times - neutral zone dumps being counted as shots and skewing the average of a tiny sample, and a successful strategy to exploit Vasilevsky's weakness, resulting in multiple long range goals.
Well, you are not paid 11 million a year, with your next contract and your long term reputation highly influenced by how you perform in the playoffs. It would not be insane for Marner to play arguably the most important game of his career over the birth of his child, who will have no memory of the event. While it is not expected or demanded, it is well within a normal choice of a champion athlete. In pumping iron, Arnold Schwarzenegger famously stated that he did not attend his father's funeral because he did not want to disrupt his training for a bodybuilding contest. Not because he would miss the contest, simply because it would just disrupt his training and make him less likely to win the contest. Champion Athletes make this kind of sacrifice and it is directly linked to why they are champions. You’re insane. I honestly have to question some peoples mental capacity on this site. Having a kid can go wrong in a matter of seconds.
I don’t care if it’s game 7, there’s not a chance in hell I’m playing. And since so many players do it, name the last NHL player to do such a thing, regular season or playoffs.

Is there another team with a star winger hanging out near the bluelines shooting pucks? I suspect not, considering Mcdavid referenced him playing kinda high in the zone.
Panthers destroyed Lightning by scoring in tight this postseason.
And you call Marner shooting from the point as a strategy vs Vasi? It's not a strategy if he does it every game, season or playoffs lol. It didn't change vs Panthers... or vs Boston. In fact the other posted a follow up article indicating he still was playing far from the net as he was vs Tampa.
100% why I stopped interacting with hm.Honest question for everyone.
Do you like that posters cut out sections of our posts and respond to only sections they want to? Like Dekes has done to my post above?
This is no longer my post because Dekes has cut it up and selectively removed parts....
Its no longer my post.
What is stopping everyone from doing this and destroying the website because nobody will bother id others can just hack up their posts how they please before answering.
So what the heck are you going to do? Threaten the doctor to do a better job? People in the army have wives giving birth with close family all the time. If it's going to be induced is one thing.
I swear pro sports athletes are the pampered people in the world. It's hilarious
somethings are bigger than hockey
if he chooses not to play for the birth of his child then i wouldn't blame him.
at the same time, I wouldn't give him credit for closing the series out if we did it without him. Maybe the team "rallied" behind his absence but the credit would be reserved for the difference makers in a potential game 6 or 7 win

What? Do you hear yourself? Pampered to be by his wife’s side and birth? Somethings are bigger than hockey.
I did research and only two players have done in it in the playoffs David Backes in 2014 and Brandon Saad in 2017. Brandon Saad said not only did he regret not being there, it affected his performance as he could not focus on hockey.
Birth smirth baby comes out and cries. Just have the little nugget induced on an off game night. If he really cared he would have actually tried the previous two games they could have closed it out instead we got whatever the hell performance those were out of Mitch.
I swear they need to just put the hockey players in pampers instead. Stick a soother in Mitches mouth, guy cried Infront of the world during the MTL series, it's not like he worries about his wife losing respect for him as a man or anything.

If they play like they did against Calgary without Mitch, he can do the team a favour and take paternity leave. Take all the time you need bud.Birth smirth baby comes out and cries. That would reinforce what the fan base already knows about him. What happens if he misses the games and the leafs still shit the bed? Are the fans gonna blame him or what?

That is not true. I didn't change your post, and I responded to that last part, as you can see here:Here is my post and in bold is what you cut out of my post: You cut the last part and changed my post.
No, they just made the same mistake with an even tinier sample. That article only looked at a couple games and a grand total of 4 shots. And 1 of those 4 shots was a dump in from neutral ice again; heavily skewing the average distance. He only had 1 more long range shot through the rest of the series.
Except it was a strategy. It's exploiting a known weakness of Vasilevsky. The person who worked with Vasilevsky and discovered that weakness is telling you it's a good strategy.I was responding to you saying it was a strategy. And I followed up indicating why it isnt a strategy because he does it every single game.
FYP.Bad news, sounds like he's playing tonight. You hate to see it.
I’ll side with Marner he can witness the birth of his child. That happens once. Like someone said things can go wrong quickly and there’s a chance he never sees either if he’s busy playing. 3 or 4 child maybe a different story.
Hopefully she’s gives birth at night or in the morning and tells he to go play.
