Because it's an insanely specific piece of information that has no real relevance to how Marner brings impact in the first place.

General playstyle, the roles they had for the strategy they were executing, and the neutral zone 'shot' skewing the results of a tiny sample.

You do realize the stats were a direct comparison of the core 4 Vs THEIR OWN season stats?

Lol... Marner in the playoffs was way further from the net and slot shots dramatically decreased relative to HIS OWN season stats. The rest of the core didnt have the same problem vs THEIR OWN season stats.

So you are saying its unfair to compare playoff Marner to season Marner?

Your also saying season Marner stats have no relevance to how Playoff Marner bring impact?

Lol

I get the sense that Dubas is mulling over whether to overpay Marner this summer if he hits free agency...he's talked about an Ovechkin Capitals resurgence when referring to the Pens...maybe boy genius thinks that's what it will take to prolong Crosby a few more years before he hits 40.

I have a good joke for this but I'm a Bruins fan so I can't make it on a Maple Leafs board. Wouldn't be sporting.

If it's all about chasing the money, then Leafs should gladly let him walk.
Let him walk regardless that first line has never been dominant like the regular season which is weird cause I don’t think any other team has that issue change it…… all I hear about is how much MORE money he wants and he hasn’t done nothing here in the playoffs for his tenure here and he plays soft and scared still making stupid cute plays you can trade the rest for all I care

.

Stamkos talked to TML, Detroit, Buffalo, etc. before coming back and singing with Tampa in the Summer of 2016.

The deal was reached two days before Stamkos had the opportunity to gauge his worth on the open market, where the four-time All-Star star with 312 goals was expected to command far more lucrative offers from numerous bidders, including his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs, the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings.

I think most of us have seen enough over the past 8 years to know what the core is about...from a management viewpoint, if the Leafs get by Ottawa and the core flops again next round, it would be much easier to let Marner walk. If the Leafs make a deep run, they'll probably keep him. But I'll let him walk if I'm Tre...I just can't see how a 8 year contract for Marner ages well...guy is going to be 30 in a couple of years.

Leafs' Mitch Marner Has Entered Unforgiving Territory With Dismal Showing Across 17 Elimination Games

As the Maple Leafs look to exorcise first-round demons again, Mitch Marner has put forth yet another disastrous performance in an elimination game.

Another elimination game, another disappearing act from the Leafs' Core 4 was the story from Game 5 on Tuesday night.

A combined minus-8, Auston Matthews and Marner were publicly slammed for their performances by head coach Craig Berube. They have also been heavily criticized on social media by Leafs Nation.

Game 5 marked the 17th elimination game for Marner. While much has been made of his performances in elimination games, Marner is the one that has been struggling most to perform.

Last chance for Marner to turn things around this upcoming few games, to change the script.

You're going in a circle. I was arguing that even if Marner goes to UFA, it doesn't mean he won't sign with the Leafs, and used Stamkos as an example.
Yes he could sign anywhere once he goes UFA.
It’s the ‘let him go’ which is confusing. ‘Letting him’ implies it’s the teams choice when it’s not.
All good.
