Yeah I actually do. I would have gladly taken a 5 goal performance from Marner with his biggest supporters in their most obnoxious form doing what they do best if it meant a win tonight but instead we're staring down the barrel of another potential game 7.You hate to see it.
Bro as far as I'm concerned. Game 6 is the do or die game.Yeah I actually do. Of course. All I want is for the team to win. I don't care who scores the goals, and I most certainly don't care what some of the idiots who pollute the Marner threads with garbage post, or don't post. Just win! GLG!!Yeah I actually do. Yeah pretty much this. I've been pretty unexcited about the series so far but now, thigs are getting really interesting all of sudden. Not in a good way but yeah, interesting.Bro as far as I'm concerned. Game 6 is the do or die game.
We show up game 7 I'm pretty sure the fans and players heads are going to combust from pressure.
That is reserved for his running mate 60 goal scoring 1C who turned into a pumpkinHe wasn't good enough tonight, no argument there from me. But he was far from the worst guy on the ice.
I dunno, I don't blame Marner that much for this meltdown. We saw in the 4 Nations if everything is going, this guy can make a small area play to a teammate streaking to the net and that can be a difference maker. Or he can find a guy who gets open from coverage and that'll make a difference. Who was going to do that on his line tonight if it wasn't going to be Knies?
Easy to do when he is NOT the guy. He was playing third line in that tournament for a large portion. He had no pressure, just needed to play to his strengths. Sure he got moved up, but he was still just a guy looking to make a play, not a leader.I dunno, I don't blame Marner that much for this meltdown. I guess unbeknownst to him, it is the exact same situation here, but he doesn't see or feel it that way and can't play freely at all.
Okay, I understand. Yes, Matthews was generally useless and a deadend. All I’m saying is he can have success in a tight game by making good connective plays to other good players making good decisions going to the hard areas ready to exploit defensive breakdowns. But he can’t make those little plays to Auston and have any effect if a big dud 6’3” captain is making bonehead play after bonehead play and otherwise playing like garbage.
Alternatively yes he could go end to end a la Datsyuk or go hard to the net like Brayden Point. But I’m just talking within the realm of what’s likely to happen.

Good commentary. I think the narrow vision is a detriment in these situations. Look for someone else, Knies, a D, anyone!Yeah Marner didn't bury the couple of chances he had of his own.. but as a guy who leans heavily towards playmaking, his effectiveness is going to swing up and down quite a bit based on how his teammates are playing.
Matthew$ just doesn't score in the playoffs. Marner hasn't yet stopped trying to feed him. Marner should just shoot himself or concentrate on getting the puck to the net front where Knies will be.
Dude was a -4 tonight. He stinks just as much as his bestie. He was also really bad at 4 Nations. He had a good final game and he did score that OT winner, but if you remember watching those games, he was dreadful for the majority of the time he was on the ice. I sincerely hope he walks, but the Leafs will resign him for $13M+, because it's what the Leafs do best - make the worst decision possible.I dunno, I don't blame Marner that much for this meltdown. Wasn't the worst on his line (that was 34) but I certainly didn't think he was good by any stretch of the imagination.Of course. All I want is for the team to win. Edit - I actually thought the team played pretty well tonight. As for Marner, it wasn't a great game and he made some cringe worthy plays but overall, he wasn't that bad.
