I agree I’d rather have the better dman as well but he is now the third highest paid dman in the league and the only two higher are older contracts that were mistakes to pay a dman so highly. If you were to utilize that cap well then I don’t see it as worth it - so it doesn’t really apply in our case.

That's a curious offseason.

Georgiev has also asked to be traded.

Blais (Buchnevich) & Goodrow (contract) honestly aren’t even bad players, it’s just what the Rangers invested in them & the reasons why.

They just built a decent chunk of their off-season around a good middle of the lineup player that they’re going to play like 4 times or so next year.

Good offseason. Best one in the Division?
I was gonna say do one for the Flyers but I don’t know how I’d feel about it after I read it, but if you feel up to it I would read.

Werenski's deal is perhaps overpayment, but for acity who cannot keep top players, he's been openly loyal and dedicated to the team. Also, he's been a consistant producer every year he's been in the NHL. 335 games, 65 goals and 189 points, and usually gets close to 25 minuates a game and effective in all situations.

only burns and hamilton have more goals that he does, since he arrived in the NHL. He's a top d, and got paid accordingly.

He's only 24, has a lot of years left to produce.

Yes, so far. But Lou Lamoriello has been typically quiet and rumored to have Palmieri and Parise already signed, and working on Tarasenko. Granted they need to add to their d, but that would be bolster their middle six.

I do like what the Devils did, Hamilton's enthusiasm and embracing the leader role, lots of young (almost all forwards under 25) talent. And they have an outstanding tandem in net, which is crucial.

If Patrick doesn’t get his act together and his head right, it doesn’t really matter. In the end, even if he becomes a marginal 45-50 point 3C, it was never happening in Philly, the way he soured on everyone. Just gave off major spoiled kid vibes throughout his entire tenure.

If it’s one thing that I’ve actually agreed with on Fletcher with, and really the only thing beyond the Ellis trade, it’s that he made a somewhat concerted effort to change up the dynamic of the room by removing Patrick in particular.

If that isn't a Hextall ofseason, I don't know what is

Running it back with that Jarry / DeSmith tandem certainly is A Choice. Age differences aside, it's eerily reminiscent of Hextall running it back with Elliott / Neuvirth to start the 18-19 season.

Getting Anders Lee back will be a nice boost, but that's a lot of pieces walking out the door. Can't imagine they are done yet.

Cizikas and Pelech are both expected to be signed. Both are asking a bit too much.

You forgot about Leddy who they traded to Detroit in deal that brought Panik to LI and the 52nd overall pick that they used on Aatu Raty
