Miscellaneous NHL Discussion CXI: The Last One Went So Long Because I Didn't Know What The Next Number Was

What was their conclusion, JQ did exactly what everyone thought he did but they don't care and will hire him anyways?
It was so extensive that he was the first person they reached out to!

They didn't even bother looking into other candidates while they worked in the shadows to do that background check about whether he's even worth of an interview.

It's just a stupid gimmick at this point. Was especially hilarious against St. Louis where the entire crowd looked like they were supporting the Blues.

Can teams petition to play their home games in their white jerseys? If not the whiteout makes no sense.
My wife thought Winnipeg was in white during the St. Louis series. I get that it's an old tradition, going back to home teams wearing white, but it really is pretty silly.

The background check is whatever, as long as someone talked to Kyle Beach about it.

Interesting to go over to the Ducks page and read the reaction there. Supposedly Beach was in agreement on Q getting hired; the Ducks did an extensive investigation into the facts; and so forth. It's as if what happened didn't.

Imagine if Q had claimed nothing actually happened to Beach, and Beach sued him for defamation and won an $88m settlement. That would surely have ended his career.

"They talked to Kyle" is so vague. For all we know it could be he strongly voiced his dislike for Q, but the Ducks don't care and just did it deflect to any criticism from hiring that PoS with their low effort token "due diligence".

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but unless we know what the conversations between Beach and the Ducks looked like, it's not really proof of much of anything.

It wouldn’t happen if the league didn’t approve it. Not that they are the moral arbiter of such things, but they did have to stop both him and Bowman from coming back sooner.

I'm all for giving people second chances. We are all imperfect humans.

But to characterize what he did as a "mistake" (as per the tweet) is just gross.

Quenneville knew what was happening, decided to actively ignore it in pursuit of a Cup.

That's a pretty strong failure in leadership and a moral failure as a human being. I wouldn't want any of the people I know and love in my life to be guided by a person like that.

Good luck, Cutter.

In actual hockey, Goalstisbehere brings the Canes to within a goal.

That goal is so reminiscent of that one he scored against the Lightning in that heavy shot differential game, where we actually dominated them but were still losing, all those years back. I'm just glad to see that he can still do it.
