Miscellaneous NHL Discussion CX: That's A Lot.

I don't expect you to follow me closely (why should you?) but I am well aware how much reputation this franchise lost (again) with the hiring of Torts. I don't blame Gauthier for his decision, actually I understand it. I don't even wanna know how much more potential deals or acquisitions didn't work out beacuse people didn't want to be in Flyersland. All the first class organization thing only goes that far I guess.

On the other side I can't root for someone who declined to play for the Flyers. Sorry I can't. I understand the decision but I just can't.
I'm a huge Cutter guy

12. Finally some clarity on Isaac Howard: he is planning a return to Michigan State. Tampa Bay’s 2022 first-rounder can be an unrestricted free agent if unsigned by Aug. 15, 2026. I admit to being a little bit surprised, as the Lightning were promoting his Hobey Baker candidacy (Howard is a finalist). But word in NCAA circles is the team and Howard weren’t simpatico on where everything stood at this time. We will see how things proceed from here, especially if other teams are interested.

On the podcast, they said he could make more money in college than the AHL.

One day people might understand the non-linearity of development. Logan Cooley’s (no slouch) trajectory today looks better than Kucherov’s. Joel Farabee outproduced 20 year old Kucherov. I’ll bet anything Cooley won’t approach that, but he should be a star. Demidov should be a star.

Kaprizov was a 5th rounder, so of course Demidov’s trajectory looks better today. But Kaprizov is a legit Hart shortlist talent. You can count on your hands the number of yearly 50 goal/110 point pace players in the league, and a few play together. Kaprizov is 5th in points/game since 2021. It’s almost impossible to outperform that for any prospect, whether it’s Celebrini or McKenna. You’d have to be in the McDavid/MacKinnon/Kucherov tier.

yes development is different for many . but in this case i dont know. demidov is gonna be a great player nodoubt. and michkov is far from finish product also.

We have no idea what Michkov is and will be since he was Torotorella-ed. Michkov might as well have gone out on the ice with hand cuffs and leg manacles every shift that he took this season
