Miscellaneous NHL Discussion CX: That's A Lot.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

As I said often this season, thy should have traded for Frost. He was the 3C with solid defense and playmaking skills they needed.

Great call…. Never thought about that as I really don’t follow the nhl outside of the flyers but I am finding it comical how the leafs fans are expecting more out of Hotrod. He has been the exact same player for over ten years. Frost would be their perfect 3C.

Even beyond the intangible talking points Laughton was playing middle of the lineup type of minutes with the Flyers in recent years.

NHL front offices by large aren’t really aware of the effects that usage/ice time have on a player’s surface production.

He was due for noticeable decline in production given he was going to an actual good team that has most of their top nine solidified.

Wasn't he supposed 3rd line matchup center to bump Domi to the wing?

I was a supporter of Laughton for a decade, and thought his last contract was good value at the time. But his defense has been very poor for almost three years now so it is objectively funny that a contender traded a decent haul for him with the idea he could be a solid two-way 3C in 2025.
Making fun of the Leafs is one thing, but why make fun of Laughton? If by some miracle Toronto wins the Cup, at least they have one player now I'll be happy for.

As if we are making voodoo dolls. A high usage replacement level player on a bad team — who we were told was irreplaceable — is playing like a replacement level player on a playoff team. The Flyers are the butt of every joke, not the player.

Gauthier has been on an absolute heater the last 2 months or so. Odds are he ends up a very good 70+ point winger...

Drysale better get his ass in gear.

Drysdale stinks and always will stink. Skating ability is incredible but his IQ is nearly non-existent. Bob Murray should be nowhere near this organization.
