That’s a good deal. Minten will play an important role for us sooner than later.
Not flashy like EC but some solid meat and potatoes guys work for me.

It sucks Kampf is out... we don't need another guy out at this point, particularly a C. I look forward to seeing how Minten does, hopefully he's a player for us.

I wonder what the lines will look like.
Does he just slot straight into the 4th line in place of Kampf for his 1st game?

I’m a huge Minten fan. I think his floor is a 3C and ceiling is a 2C, though the floor is more likely here.

I worry that calling him up when it seems like he’s just starting to unlock his offensive potential is a mistake, but at least it’s temporary.

If this kid can turn into a complementary, defensively sound 2C to play with Nylander, that is a gigantic win.

I would prefer to see him get more of an opportunity than 4C.

Wednesday?

McMann Tavares Marner
Robertson Domi Nylander
Knies Minten Steeves
Lorentz Dewar Holmberg

When healthier?

McMann Matthews Domi
Paccioretty Tavares Nylander
Knies Minten Marner
Lorentz Kampf Dewar
Holmberg

Good for him.

I actually thought about making a post before he came back from injury saying something to the effect of:

"Take it easy on him, that's a notoriously troublesome injury to come back from with guys frequently "healthy" but not back to normal and playing like they can for months."

But he has not missed a beat. Even if the upside is limited, he's got the potential to be an important piece for us down the middle.

Minten 4 points in 5 games with the Marlies. Just coming back from a long rehab too. We already know he can play the NHL game. Super excited to see him back even if it’s filling in for suspensions and injuries. My gut says he may not need to leave again. The 3rd line centre we need who can chip in with some offense.

Your Wednesday lines I like alot although that second line scares me in their own zone. As for the future, I'm not sure I like Marner on the third line with a rookie centre.

He looked good on the weekend on the Marlies. Generally I’d say he probably needs a little more AHL runway but when duty calls, this is a good chance for Minten to step up and show us what he’s got. He looks a lot bigger than he did last fall.

He had 6 points in 5 games but they inexplicably removed 2 clear assists for some reason. Minor detail though.

I would say he's faster in terms of acceleration. And he has to keep playing faster. Might be tough after a high ankle sprain though.

When I saw him live he looked like a big body 2 way center who could muscle into traffic no problem and scored a nice goal vs Belleville. If he’s ready, great. He looks a lot more pro than this time last year.

With the NHL centers that may be available and alot of teams looking the price could be very high.
Time to see what we have and give him an opportunity to see what he needs to work on .
Berube is going to love this players sponge.
