AAHA has it in their rules. Player would not be able to play with the new team. Also have rules about a coach leaving after the season bringing players to his new team.

Ya that’s not how it goes around here, unfortunately. Mid-Am doesn’t require players to get a release.

In fact, the guy who convinced the three kids to leave my daughter’s org was their former Pee Wee coach.

As I said though, it’s not a rampant problem or I highly suspect the orgs around here would put more pressure on MidAm to change the rules.

I’m honestly more frustrated with the MidAm rules around here that there can only be one Tier 1 girls program.

The top Tier 2 program is one of the best in the country and they do a better job developing local girls - but they have to bow to the Tier 1 team with BS agreements and lose some of their best players.

It’s a real roadblock in convincing my daughter to move to girls, because she wants nothing to do with the BS politics of the Tier 1 team.

Pretty big update on the commitment BS I’ve written about often on here since last spring:

This relates to what Y Joe wrote about finding some forgiveness….

One of the moms who left sent out some hints to my wife she and her husband messed up and wanted to come back to my daughter’s org.

She said the grass isn’t always greener and it was asinine chasing the extra A, they got duped, their season was a nightmare, etc

My wife wasn’t sure about the cryptic texts, but I assured her it was this mom reaching out for a lifeline.

Told my wife we have to show compassion and forgiveness, and at the end of the day it’s just youth hockey.

My wife reached out to the team leaders to make sure it was ok if “Johnny” came back to the team.

They all agreed and wanted him back, even the kid who punched Johnny in the summer.

So Johnny is coming to skate in a practice with the team next week.

My wife made it clear to this mom she used her influence to help her son get back on the team, and stuck her neck out.

She also said they don’t have to feel compelled to come back to the org, but if her son comes to tryouts and makes it, and they decide to commit - they better keep their word this time.
