It's not like he is an Okposo, Ericsson, Ladd, or Nielsen level fail of a FA...not even close. Like i said, he's ok.

No he was basically a Craig Leipold pick, the man who happens to be the owner of the Wild...

I hoped Zuccarello would reach his usual 60 points, but now it looks like he'll end up short of 50. He's first of all a playmaker and an assist guy, normally around 35-40 assists a season. Very interesting because his assists have dropped a lot, while he has more goals than ever before. He's forced to shoot way more because he doesn't trust his linemates, they've been pretty bad.

So based on this mess of a team I'm fine with Zuccarello's performance this season.

He's been stapled to our #1C for most of the year. A center that's pacing 25 goals and 60 points, by the way.

I've really never had any animosity towards Zuccarello, but your lame excuses for the 2nd highest paid forward on the team are getting really f***ing old.

CL goes all in to help his GM sign who the GM wants to sign. He knows he's not as knowledgeable when it comes to players to make decisions himself vs the people he hired to make such decisions. It was Fenton that wanted Zuccarello, CL just went the extra mile in the courting process, because that's part of his job... support the decisions the GM wants to make.

CL isn't the one who said who should be signed. He's not a scout, nor does he try to be.

That’s so funny because 3/4 of the year he’s been the 3rd best player on his line

His line mates not be “1st line” quality but by that standard neither is he. I am not understanding the “worst line mates of his career” excuse. Fiala has taken those line mates and they’re playing their best hockey of the year

One of the problems that keeps recurring this year is that I know the Wild would benefit from a serious slide. Top 8 pick etc.

But, I do want to experience those feels and excitement when we are in the PO’s and the X is loud as hell. So with us flirting with the PO’s I find myself justifying why I would like to see them make the PO’s, but then I feel in some sort of unhappy place as I know we’d pick like 18th.

I just secretly wanna see Fiala boost through the middle and score or watch Dumba do the same. Crowd going nuts.

Why can’t we have nice things :(

I don't think the West has a really dominate team this year, and any team that makes the Playoffs really does have a chance to make it to the Cup Finals.

I wonder what type of player we could get if we built a big package.
Dumba + 1st (MIN) + greenway
for
Jack Hughes

who says no?

If the Wild don't trade Brodin they'll need to extend him. What kind of deal (AAV and term) are we looking at?

Here's a line I'd like to see just once:

Galchenyku - Donato - Fiala

Put Fiala with someone not old and slow but with skill.

Parise's play last night, where he couldn't handle a simple pass on his tape, makes me wonder if his back is acting up again. If it hurts to bend over then it's hard to recieve a pass. Otherwise, I'm baffled.

Keep an eye on whatever the Leafs give Muzzin, because it'll probably be at least a talking point in any negotiations with Brodin. Muzzin's older (30) and hast typically brought more offense, so I'd think Toronto will be more worried about term than we are. I'm not necessarily for long-term UFA deals, but giving Brodin 6+ years at 28 doesn't worry me. You figure it'll also have trade protection, but as long as Guerin can keep it to a modified NTC I think we're fine.

he already had to fix his stick so he doesn't bend over that far a few years back. his body is probably not aging well and should be bottom 6 minutes now.

He's still on a 30+ goal pace this season.

I think we still have another 2 years of "productive" Parise before he turns into an anchor.

The one player I hope benefits from this is Donato. Career high in goals playing mostly 4th line. Never seemed to be a big favorite of Bruce.

So in the last year, new GM, new Coach ... surely new Captain is the last shoe to fall. Who?
