Minnesota Wild General Discussion 2024-25

Today Zucc left practice early...and his teammates: "now we're toast".

But he only decided to take the day off :phew:

I figure 6 Points should be good enough to get Wild in Playoffs the rest of way. Vancouver would then have to get 14 out of a possible 16 points and Calgary 13 out of possible 18 remaining. Although Calgary has 4 of last 9 against San Jose and Anaheim, so it may take 7-8 to feel secure with Calgary.

For those who support tanking, this popped up on my FB:

It's a risky game. People talk about getting out of a tank in 7-8 years and be something like the Blackhawks semi-dynasty, but several teams have had "tanks" that have lasted decades now. Multiple decades. I can't help but think of the Coyotes/Utah, who have been bad for 13 straight seasons now, had 3 good years before that, but before those 3 years had been bad for 6 years. That's 22 years with a total of 3 truly good seasons and another mediocre playoff season where they just barely exceeded .500 (and were actually well below it if not for loser points).

Games 80 and 81 may determine the season. Sure would be nice to have a healthy forward back for them.

Think it depends on what level of first line center you expect Celebrini to be.
Elite... top 5 C. Not now, but in the years to come when the current bunch(McD, Drai, Matthews, Mack, Eichel) start slowing down. He, Bedard, Hughes, Stutzle, maybe Carlsson will be the new elite C's.

Have to say i don't know if they will measure up to their predecessors like McDavid, Crosby, Mackinnon, Matthews, Drai.

Marat with 0 points in his last 5. 2 G, 0 A in 10 games with Boston - one a breakaway and one a fluky dump in.

Doesn’t mean the trade was a good move, but it does lend a bit of a perspective for what exactly we gave up.

Boldy did not have immediate impact.
Yes, you are right. I thought he got some NHL games after his NCAA season, but just double checked and he never got the call up despite lighting up the AHL for 14 games. I remember a lot of people being upset we didn’t bring him up for the Vegas series

Probably would have won that series too and forever changed the course of Wild history.

Just got an assist tonight, as did Duhaime, who he was playing against. I'd rather have Duhaime, Marat, Lauko, and 1.5M than Trenin, Shore and Brazeau.
