Minnesota Wild General Discussion 2024-25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Your world sounds boring.

My world has wrong physics do to rolling nat 20s, everyone is a bobble head, zebras are multicolor poka doted instead of wearing their prison stripes, and reality tv was never invented.
I want to live in your world

So you guys weren't sounding the alarm sooner, Zucc? Comments like his are absolutely BS when he and the rest of the top line sit on their hands with zero shots through a good portion of the last game. Just shut up and start doing something. I swear the only ones who didn't see the possibility of missing the postseason getting closer and closer was the damn team itself. I don't want to hear guys saying "we have to try harder" only to follow it up with lollygagging around in the next game.

I think I'm finally fully numb to this team because thinking about them missing the playoffs doesn't make me feel any kinda way. Would basically just say "meh" and shift my full focus over to baseball season. I'm already one foot out the door as is.

We should be in year 5 of a rebuild now , instead we are going to lose Kap for minimal gain and be in a worse spot than we were when Guerin announced the buyouts. He has grossly mismanaged this team to the point where his tenure will have led directly to a completely wasted decade and the biggest issue with that is it seems the owner wanted and was on board with all of it.

And the worst part of it will be the trash running the team getting to blame it on injuries and point to the good 25 games they had against a bunch of bad teams that made them look like they might be a contender.

Would you be saying the same thing if half our core players weren't down for significant time? Up until late December, we were top 5 team in the league and KK was on an MVP pace.

Nothing's a bigger waste in today's NHL than the "rebuild." You can flop all you want and end up with immensely talented players and still fail to win a Cup. Moreover, you can end up like Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit and Montreal and not even qualify for the playoffs season after season.

Given that winning is difficult and limited to one club per season, it's probably important to consider other successes. Making the playoffs when you have a huge amount of dead cap is actually one sign that the team was well put together.

I don't see the Wild ever winning a Cup in my lifetime but I'd rather have a GM who adds talent occasionally than a GM who sends more away than he acquires. I do think Guerin has done pretty well overall and this summer will be the big tests: getting Rossi on a reasonable deal, extending Kaprizov or getting a "Martin Necas" if he can't, and adding a piece or two that can make the team into a legit contender next season.

Lmao , for sure …..we’re just a piece of two away from being a contender. This is why Minnesota will never have nice things. The fans are literally Pejorative Slured

Like what was wrong with Kaprizov? Must be pretty serious. He's losing way more time than JEE, who had a broken leg.

I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that if we had $8M and $6M players in our lineup during the non-Kaprizov time, that we'd be a little better equipped to withstand it, and could possibly swing a couple of the February - March losses.

I think the elephant in the room is, do you trust Guerin to finish the retooling or not? He's gotten almost to the finish line, but given the injuries and some really disappointing signings and trades...you got to wonder if the Wild will continue to tread water or take a step forward.
