Zucc is so old and slow he’s just a massive black hole of possession at 5v5 and he absolutely has to be penciled into the top 6 where he kills a line for the most part.

My real issue is the amount of bottom line players we have being jammed into middle 6 spots. It’s idiocy and we’re overpaying for it.

Some people like these players , show me the results at some point. This core is a complete failure and the window we were hoping we might have is going to be closed in about 6 weeks.

As soon as next year we could have all of: Kaprizov, Boldy, Rossi, Yurov, Eriksson Ek, Zuccarello and a ~$7M forward as our top 7 forwards on the roster. That is fully respectable.

Or as soon as next year we could have Boldy Ek Zucc from that group and whatever other castaways Guerin can assemble. I am convinced Kap will walk and Guerin and Hynes absolutely loath Rossi. I think they hate Rossi on the same level Guerin hated Fiala

I think JEEK falling off a cliff this year has been the most disappointing thing I’ve experienced as a Wild fan when I comes to individual players. He’s slower , less aggressive and isn’t going to the net the same way. Appeared injured all season and hopefully he gets healthy but him not being in normal form was a dagger for this team.

I'm going to get the popcorn when they push Kaprizov back too early, he tears his groin and has to go through another surgery, he sits next year and then walks. Shades of Gaborik.

It's pretty clear ek has been injured, calling him a disappointment because of that shows a real lack of awareness.

Oh for sure , you got the inside scoop eh?? He so injured we went to the prom with Sweden. Talk about a lack of awareness.
 
He missed 15 games earlier in the year spread out over 2 or 3 injuries, and now this latest. That can mess up a season, or the guy huge disappointment and we should move on asap.

Hynes - I’m thinking about moving some deck chairs around …

Billy - Just make sure Foligno and Trenny are getting plenty of ice time , we need to play heavier

Hynes - How about if I move Rossi down and try to jumpstart Shoresy

He didn’t look like himself from game 1 , the dude is my favorite Wild player of all time. I just hope he isn’t wearing out and slowing down.
 
Hold the line, maintain a WC spot. Bow out in a respectable 6. Enter next year with by far the best roster in franchise history.

I want to see what we look like with Buium, Yurov and a $6-8M FA.

Future is still bright. The drama here because we trade a couple 4th liners or drop Rossi down to create two scoring lines is ridiculous.

I think assuming we retain Kaprizov we’re well positioned to be competetive I’ve the next 5+ years, but I don’t believe we can truly compete for a cup until we add a true number 1 center to the mix.

Seems Borderline. I can’t say I’ve watched much Barzal the last few years. After his rookie season I would’ve said yes forsure, but now I don’t know. Counting stats aren’t amazing. The skating is still unbelievable and the team he plays on surely suppresses some production.

If he gives you that every year yeah that’s a legit 1 for me. I lean that you can win with him as your number one center but it’s not a no brainer for me. In terms of past cup winners, probably in that O’Rielly / Backstrom tier.

I do think that’s enough if you have Kaprizov on the wing, ala Kucherov/Point.
