Main board McD elbow thread is another reminder why i typically stay out of there. f***ing Wild. I don't mind the no call, I sure as hell didn't see it real time. I don't even mind of McD doesn't get suspended or fined... it's such a sneaky little thing that I would understand the NHL not wanting to do anything to their numero uno superstar.

That said, those trying to say MarJo dove or it was his fault. Just wow.

One of my personal favorites was the idea that it's okay for McDavid to do stuff like this because of the amount of hooks and holds that he has to deal with, as if every other NHL player doesn't also have to deal with that stuff

But yeah there's a lot of great stuff being posted in there

I'm sorry, I've opned that thread. It was a mistake. I was angry because MaJo is the next guy on our injured list. So I wanted to know how other, more objective fans saw that play. Of course, I should have foreseen that those McDavid famboys gonna post shit like Johansson diving. If something similar happens to McDavid, those Oilers fans burn the NHL office down when there are no consequences for injuring their star player.

It's a dirty play imo, it should have been a misconduct at least. But it happned fast so I won't blame the refs. So they should have done something afterwards (fine/suspension) but starplayers seem to get away with those things.

I have got no bias against McD, I love watching him play hockey. That being said, I'm not ok that there are no consequences for that dirty play.

I've watched this from every angle they have, multiple times each. This guy is going to have a hearing with player safety. For the life of me I can't figure out how this is worse than McDavid's fly-by elbow. The only difference I can make out is that I've never heard of this Tsyplakov guy prior to this video, and McDavid is McDavid.

I saw him hit the shoulder first, but can't say for sure. The commentator mentioned that the hit was after the shot, totally forgetting that he is looking at slo mo, and the puck had just barely left his stick. The league would deem it to be close enough to possession to be a late hit.

I did not see him stick out his elbow, either. I would tend to not penalize, or certainly not suspend a guy for that hit.

I don't get how the league allows blatant cross checks to the back and head in after the whistle scrums, myself. It's incredibly obvious, isn't a "hockey play"...they just let it go because they've always let it go. Dumb hockey people "thinking". I also don't understand how Draisaitl didn't get suspended for the nut shot on Kaprizov last year. That was dirty, was not in the course of play...I just shake my head, sometimes.

Excited to see Ohgren. Appears he is acclimated to NA hockey now. If he hits, he is exactly what the middle 6 needs as a shoot-first wing with a good motor.
