Minnesota Wild General Discussion 2024-25

  • Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates, this is just a temporary look. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days and restore the site to it's more familiar look, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
I'm sorry, but i don't see how we hold it together with our defense in shambles. The top 3 injured is too much. No Kap, Spurgeon, Faber, and Brodin. All of this while the Avs and Stars are only getting stronger too.

We ain’t out of this yet. The dynamics of our franchise changed when Faber became a 1D. Teams with two-way 1Ds rarely underperform. Add in Brodin, Spurgeon and Middleton and our floor is quite high. It was obscured last year bc Spurgeon was out, our bottom 6 was awful and we had sub .900 team SV %.

But the point is, the emergence of Rossi & Faber have changed the game. We have a franchise forward and a franchise D. Two solid Top 6 Cs and good defensive depth players. We have some serious bullets still in the chamber with Jiricek, Buium, Yurov & Ohgren. It all depends on health and goaltending but I still like our chances to win a round or two.

Avs still have zero depth and 5 or 6 plugs playing big minutes at any given time. We haven’t played Dallas with a full lineup in forever and they have lost some key pieces as well. They are very good, but not infallible.

Fans gotta be patient now with all those injured players. You could take out the top 3 defensemen and the top forward of any team: All of them would be getting problems winning games.

Every point we get without those 4 playing is a huge success imo.

You mean the tournament where Boldy gets injured?

Sometimes the swelling is so bad that the foot can't go back in the skate. Could be a bone bruise- not as bad as a fracture, but lots of swelling, and takes longer to subside than regular bruises.

That blocked shot must have really left a mark on Brodin.

It’s incredible this team has somehow found a way to go 6-3 while Kap has been out. The schedule hasn’t been full of “easy” games either.

If they can go .500 through the 4 Nations Break, then I think they’ll be in a good spot to finish off the rest of the season.
