The biggest test will be how active Guerin is at the TDL to add depth scoring
There was a big test this summer and he decided to dump 4M on whatever Tronion is. What a massive failure that’s been and you might say it’s only 4M but that cap space could have been used at the deadline this year.

Took a swing on trying to fix our biggest problem and missed. Happens.

Ok, then why not feel that way now? It's the same team.

Not to say I agree or disagree one way or the other, but we've seen this before, where the team excels in the regular season only to fizzle out immediately once the playoff starts. This isn't new territory nor is it the ultimate goal, and the team has only proven that they will let you down if you get your hopes up.

Making the Cup finals is completely different, it's uncharted territory for this team, and it's what you ultimately strive for. I completely understand being skeptical of this, now, while recognizing that if they do actually prove you wrong and make the Cup finals, you'd be excited and entertained.

Ok, I can see your point and I think it's a fair one, so maybe we need to narrow it in. Should we only get excited by the 3rd round of the playoffs? That leaves an awful lot of time where I'm not allowed to enjoy watching successful moments.

I don't understand being overly excited or gloomy at this point in the year. I'm happy they've won a lot, I understand they will likely regress to some degree, and I really don't care if they do. I want to see them win, but I won't lose sleep if they get swept in the first round of the playoffs and I won't lose sleep if they don't even make the playoffs. I might lose sleep if they win the Cup, but that'll be because I'm celebrating with friends and is a very different type of sleep loss.

I personally think that's up to each individual person and I don't necessarily think there's any right or wrong answer. I don't think anyone should tell you how to feel about the team and I don't think anyone should tell ben how to feel about the team either.

This.

One of the important lessons I’ve learned in life is to only worry about things that you can control. Honestly, life has been much more pleasurable since that realization.

Favorite sports team isn’t living up to expectations? Oh well, go find something else that brings you joy.

Enjoy the good times. Don’t fret the bad times; just find something else to give your attention.

I enjoy watching sports , I also enjoy playing the satirical role of perpetually grumpy pessimist who hates everything about everything lol.

What else could you be as a 44 year old having spent your entire life in MN. I’ve witnessed some of the most pathetic sporting existence in the world and very little actual success.

I like watching the Wild win , the issue is when the bulk of the winning comes against bad teams and the games against good teams are the same result year in and year out.

That would be fine if there was some coherent vision for what the front office is building towards but I’m just not seeing it.

F7, I say this with nothing but love.
But you make this way more complicated than it needs to be.

Not like any front office makes perfect moves but for me it feels like we are closer than ever. Goalie is set, Yurov and Ohgren are likely to be nhl players, add buium on the back end and maybe a free agent forward. If those guys are contributing we could be very good and its not far away.

Getting hot at the right time helps too but we have a lot going on in the near future and we are far from terrible now. Get lucky on some other prospects and who knows how we fit everyone.

If we suck you just get to tell us you were right every week for the rest of your life.

Russo was asked again on his podcast (Worst Seats), this time at a live show, about Rossi and contract extension/trade. He said the following (paraphrasing):
-Brass sees the improvements he has made this year
-Likely waiting till the offseason to see how the cap ceiling situation plays out (planning for Kap extension that would kick in the year after)
-Rossi camp is open to both long term and short term (not sure if this is a gut feeling or actual reporting)
-The only way they trade him is if it is a no brainer deal for the Wild

Breathe easy Rossi Stans. Seems like Rossi will be here at least a few more years.

This also sounds like someone got fed up with Russo’s prior reporting and set him straight.
