This team isn't good enough for the playoffs and needs to work on a mini rebuild so three years from now, when they are out of the heavy dead cap, they can be fully ready to compete.

Pieces for sale:

Hartman
Zuccarello
Steel
Foligno
Greenway
Gaudreau

Dumba
Goligoski
Middleton
Merrill
Addison

Minnesota team needs:
1. Quality centers (u26 players or prospects)
2. Even strength scoring depth (preferably u26)
3. Even strength scoring defensemen
4. Picks in the 2023 draft

None of those pieces are going to return anything substantial. Outside of Kaprizov and Boldy who aren't for sale, who's even interesting? Brodin and EE probably the only ones.

Brodin and Eriksson Ek aren't available.

Steel, Goligoski and Merrill aren't interesting. The rest are.

I think their combined salaries exceed the available cap space by all.
What are you on about?

Then I’m looking for picks. Wild can eat salary to send some of these players to a contender for a cup run.

Jon Merrill for JAD
Eh, don’t need a 4C. Maybe like a 3rd round pick?

Team is just terribly constructed. Guerin tried to make a goon squad over an actual hockey team.

With that being said, would love Foligno on the Leafs

For a playoff run? Not sure any of these guys are high on teams' list. Sure you'll get something back.

I'd actually do that if for no other reason than to change the players on the team
Would love to open up a spot for one of O’Rourke/Hunt to come up.

I think a guy like Hartman would be $$ for a team like Boston with his decent production and low cap hit. Something like Hartman for 1st+3rd+cap dump (C. Smith) could be worth it for them.

Foligno would be wanted by about half the playoff teams
Hartman is half a season removed from 65 points for 1.7M
Middleton brings the "toughness" every GM seems to love and can play good minutes if needed
Addison is a 22 year old rookie RD who can already QB a PP and will only improve from here
Zuccarello is an experienced top six scoring winger, and by some accounts, a good leader

I really don't understand what you're getting at when you say none of them are interesting. None of them are Horvat or Meier, sure, but guys exactly like these get moved around every deadline because playoff teams covet them. No one ever said they were all gonna bring back 1sts or top prospects. 2nds, 3rds, mid level prospects, they're all fine. If you're not interested in them though, why are you here?

I agree most playoff teams would look at Hartman. Not sure what the offers would be, but I would want my team to be calling asking for a price. He's too inexpensive to not kick tires on.

I'm here to talk hockey. Why are you here?

None of the guys you listed have any significant playoff resume. Sure you'll get mid round picks.

The big problem you're going to run into w/r/t deadline deals is term - folks are generally looking for rentals, not extended commitments.

1st+Pulj? Not sure if Edmonton views Pulj as worth something. Just trying to help the cap and get a piece Minnesota would want in return (2023 1st).

I'd like to see Addison back with the penguins.
What would you offer?

Please don't fire sale. Do not want the Flames sneaking into 8th and another reason for our ownership to go all in, for a chance to play one playoff series.

Buffalo could trade for MAF and have the elderly duo take them to the cup (thats if nither breaks a hip). The cost of Pedialyte and Geritol would double but worth it.
