It's not the points I care about. We have plenty of offense in the top-6 - provide some other elements.
He doesn't provide any other elements. Offense is it. If you want more than that, you will be disappointed.

Well, he wants to keep the team together he can take a bit less instead of trying to get around the same as Matthews. Losing Nylander gonna hurt this teams offence more than most think.
He’s been getting less all along, can’t keep taking one for the team forever. Especially when none of the others hav

It’s great watching someone like Matthews dominate, but he’s been great since he stepped into the NHL

Watching Nylander grow and mature into a star in this league is something else. He‘a unreal now
Well said. There's just something so great about watching Nylander's development, especially watching him come up big in the playoffs in light of all the flak he's consistently gotten in the media.

It would be so easy to sulk, or sit back on his unbelievable natural skill level, but he's so determined to work hard and become the best player he can be. What's not to love about that? Hopefully he's a career Leaf as a player, and then gets a job in the organization

Which is why I was hoping the motivation for playing in his hometown would spur him on to play harder and be more physical.

Still might come yet.

Unreal how a few of the usual suspects still stuck around to bash Willy this summer. I wonder if they're gonna keep that same energy this season.

We have witnessed it forever….why is it so hard to call the game with regular season rules? Sure we may what the rules to be different but it makes no sense to play by one set of rules for 82 games and then all of a sudden it’s different rules

The funny thing is, I enjoyed it when we were beating the senators and I hated it when the bruins were mugging us.

But joking aside, you’re right of course

Pretty sure there are options with Tavares contract expiring. We don't need to get rid of Marner to keep Nylander.

Feels like Domi is still trying to find his niche on the line, I dont know if hes often been the third pass option

It might be an adjustment playing with Nylander who has the puck all the time, but even when Domi finally gets it, especially in the defensive zone, it's just not a good play he makes.

So I think playing with someone like Minten and Jarnkrok could be better for him to be more of the puck carrier, as opposed to what he is now.

I'd consider demoting Domi to put a little more forecheck with Nylander and Tavares. Maybe a simple Knies and Domi swap of lines. I'd even consider bumping Gregor up.

I'm a Domi fan but he's not playing well at all.
Feels like a Domi/Bert swap will happen at some point

The team will sign both Nylander and Marner, and the cap situation will be fine. They simply won't allocate major money to goaltending, and they won't need to.
