Proposal: Minnesota - Chicago Offseason Blockbuster

Nah, Chicago doesn't get to dictate terms when they are getting a Kaprizov level player in the deal.
If we are working in the hypothetically world where we are running into problems re-signing Kaprizov, they can dictate somewhat. It's a trade, both sides get to dictate what they want and willing to give up, that's the point of trades and getting a top 10 pick is a good asset. To compromise, we could start from conditional 2026 or 2027 CHI pick (both top 5 protected, CHI can choose).

With all that said, even if we started with that 1st + Rinzel, we need a 20-25yr NHL player back. Nazar feels very non-Bill Guerin and Reichel isn't that guy. I don't see us trading with the Chicago, they don't have the pieces we need.

We will take our business elsewhere. I cannot think of anything more catastrophic than our team trading our superstar player to a division rival and they get to decide to push the pick out to when it will be a late 1st.

Okay FINE! Bedard.

They are still going to suck, it won't be a late first even with Kaprizov.
I think you're underrating Kaprizov, he's the best skater on the ice every time I see him against the jets & he was leading a minnesota team with severe cap penalties to a president's trophy pace before his injury. Was probably also the hart favourite until that point.

Kaprizov + Bedard can probably drag the team to picking in the mid-late teens

If Minnesota loses faith that they will be able to re-sign Kaprizov. There were rumblings coming out last summer of Kaprizov not wanting to sign an extension but admittedly that was before the cap increase was announced. So hey why not?

To Chicago:
Kirill Kaprizov

To Minnesota:
Frank Nazar
Roman Kantserov
Arvid Soderblom's rights
Florida's 26 1st
So, a quantity for quality trade. What makes you think that MN, finally out of the cap penalty hell that they have been in, are going to voluntarily take a step backwards, and trade their superstar to a division rival?

I mean, it's slightly possible, but only if CHI overpays. This proposal is hardly that. Arvid Soderblom's rights? Start with CHI's 2025 1st, and keep adding.

The Blackhawks have the parts to make a compelling offer for Kaprizov, but the OP has excluded those pieces. Then doubles down as though Chicago is such a great market that the Blackhawks can swoop in and sign him as a free agent, like that's some fait accompli.

At one time, I suppose it was, but not anymore. These days, Chicago is a pit until the team improves. Right now, people are looking at them and shaking their heads, watching Bedard stall, and questioning management at every turn. This isn't a plum location.

I don't know if he ends up choosing Minnesota or not, but why does a prime free agent on the open market choose Chicago?

The rumors were never true, the writer came out and said he misspoke! What a crappy proposal! There isn't anything wild are going to trade anything for , especially not in the off-season. It's not happening. Kaprizov also has NMC , lol.. What a joke of proposal and wild have no reaosn to trade him. They can start negotiating in July and if they have to trade him, it won't be in division

Then Chicago scoops him in free agency once he doesn’t sign
He;s not going to chicago dude, but it was a flat out lie by Mark who admitted. Lol oh yeah leave a winning team and a team owner who spends for a losing team, lol, he doesn't want Chicago. He's not making it to free agency next year
