How are we feeling about the AHL contracts and Iowa next season?

I feel like they should see some good improvement with more vets added and extra experience for the D men. Not much in the way of excitement in the forward group for me though in terms of NHL impact.

Is there anything to see in rookie Matthew Sop from Kitchener or is he more likely to spend most of the year in the ECHL? A big season as an overager last season but that doesn't always translate to pro hockey.

He will likely be in the ECHL. He has to win out a spot over the following (have no idea the actual lines or where some guys will slot, but just a rough depth chart). My guess is he will get some games but won't be a regular.
