I guess a d-man will now be traded or waived to clear out some space.

With Carson Soucy and Nick Seeler both able to play on LD, my guess is that Gustav Olofsson will be the one on the move.

So am I correct that the Wild don't need to make a trade at this point for cap reasons?

Don’t let your dreams die. If you want to keep proposing deals on the basis that Wild need to clear cap, I say go for it.

This is a fair deal.

He's only had that one season where he's earned this type of contract. He was also terrible in the playoffs.

He should hover around 50-60 points most seasons which will mean a fair contract for both sides.

He'll be okay in the playoffs as long as he runs into Jake Allen every night.

Holy crap. Hope he not a one hit wonder.

....last year he had the same production....only difference is he got a bit more PP time this year than last. so not a a one hit wonder by any means, as he has a few other good seasons to go with this season.

I don't think last year was an aberration given his 5v5 production under Boudreau was 46 and 48 points. He just got legit time on the powerplay for the first time in his career. I would bet on him being able to maintain a 30 goal 60 point career for at least most of this contract.

well, the band is back together, in spite of threats of wholesale trades after last year's poor playoff showing. Guess Fenton decided to wait and see if this year is the one that it all comes together.

Although I don’t like the Wild very much (never will after the dumba thread) I have to say this is a great contract and this kid loves to score. Love to see that.
