For those interested, this cost Minnesota $13,125, paid to Edmonton and not counted against the cap.

Players claimed this season: 17
Total compensation: $490,500

Kapanen: playing well
Brown: playing well
Hyman: reached heights he never could have dreamed of playing with Midtthews

We signed Dermott to be our #8 D. Minnesota claimed him because their blueline is decimated. Absolutely nothing to see here.

you're forgetting someone, which is strange considering you'll see him on your cap for the the next six years

people enter the treatment program for many reasons, not just addiction. It's just funny that in responding to a post about the Oilers picking up ex-Leafs who they had to waive, you don't mention the most prominent and damaging example
Campbell was picked up on waivers ?

I must have been day dreaming...

Because it’s pretty widely believed he has addiction issues.

Weird he didn’t get help for them in the centre of the hockey universe.

This is wild spin to justify a terrible contract.
Also completely baseless speculation considering Campbell has long been open about mental health issues, which is a possible reason for the treatment program that has nothing to do with addiction. And somehow finding a way to blame Toronto despite him having the most success in his career during that time.
