JAD has mostly played center in Junior and AHL. JAD has played center that Kupari in those two leagues

If we're ever looking for a center for a junior or AHL team, we'll keep him in mind.

I was mostly interested in Kupari because I liked him as a prospect leading up to his draft, he's big (so Guerin will like him), he's a center, he's right handed, and I think he would fit well next to Boldy. Plus his cap hit fits well with Minnesota's cap problems.

How about u first learn how asses depreciation assets like Middleton
I don't think Middleton is as bad as some of you Kings fans think he is. He probably doesn't have the value Kupari does, which I admit was an oversight on my part when making the thread, but I am willing to rotate him out for someone like Ryan O'Rourke to accommodate a prospect for prospect swap.

I get it now, you guys really covet your soon-to-be 23 year old that can't even crack a middling NHL roster full time.

We'll go look for one of the dozens of other guys just like him out there.

Yeah I guess the difference is OP was proposing our garbage in good faith, and was willing to talk about other deals that might work, and you're just trying to troll.
It is simply not a correct statement.

I was responding to talk about other deals that might work with my offer of Kupari for Lambos/O’Rourke/Hun.

Responses were negative with undervaluing Kupari objective value.

You guys want to trade for Kupari proposing not needed surplus.

It is not going to work.

I quite like the idea of adding Middleton and O'rourke for the future.

Kupari + ?

You can go to look for one of the dozens of other guys like Kupari.

Kings will go look for one of the dozens of other guys like Lambos/O’Rourke/Hun.

God luck to both teams.

The idea, for me at least, is to trade one of our many LD for a center or right winger (right handed). I'd be open to O'Rourke for Kupari.

As far as I'm concerned, sign me up!

Position of need for LAK that's for sure. I do like Middleton but he's a bandaid on a severed leg right now. Having O'Rourke to grow with the youth would be better.

I think in general Middleton is not the player we are looking for.
Speed and skill is absolutely an issue here.

Different would be if talk bottom pair defender but then the return wouldn't be Kupari

I think it's a bad ideas to trade Middleton for MN. He is the only player on their D who combines toughness and size. His lack of footspeed is being exaggerated. For sure, he is no ballerina, nor a great puck handler, but he IS good as a SAH Dman. It takes all sorts to make up a solid D corps. Some PMD's, a PP specialist... and a solid, meat and potatoes, 4/5Dman who plays 18 minutes/night. At 2.45M/yr, he is, if not a bargain, then certainly not overpaid. There would be many teams in the league who would gladly trade for him because of his skillset and cap hit.

Yeah, I don’t know why he is being disparaged so much in here, guy is a responsible and physical defenseman that is also a pretty capable puck mover. He’s essentially a Soucy clone and very much worth his contract, there is very little reason for Guerin to want to move him either as we don’t have an internal replacement for that aspect of the D.

If the Kings prefer one of ROR or Hunt to him because of timeline then more power to them, right now, Middleton is the only capable NHLer in this bunch though and the Wild need capable defenders for this season, for that reason alone, I don’t see this being realistic.

Soucy was a 3rd pairing dman for Minnesota. Soucy also had much better puck skills, but less physicality. I’d love Middleton to be next to Addison on the 3rd pair. That’s where he would be if we had a contender level LD group.

Goligoski is a suitable placeholder for when whoever of Hunt/O’Rourke/Lambos/Peart is ready to come up to the NHL level. Hunt looks like he could probably hold his own at the NHL level right now. I haven’t seen O’Rourke play yet, but I look forward to that hopefully soon.
