Is Barry Trotz the worst GM in the league? How many guys has he lost on waivers for free this year, not to mention guys he attached picks to, to move.

not really sure why nashville took a guy who was a coach and made him a GM. were the 17 second round exits they had under him really that sentimental?

A warm body to replace Hartman for 10 games, and then an AHL scorer to significantly replace Sammy Walker. Seems like a decent idea to claim him (either by him clearing waivers to Iowa, or giving the MN Wild the ability to send Jones down).
One would assume that Nashville will pluck him back to pass down to Milwaukee at that point, rather than letting him go through to Iowa.

If they waive him, Nashville probably just re-claims to get his AHL rights. He has another year on deal too so I doubt they’d view it as a “why bother”

Barry does seem to be terrible at his job. But when did he attach picks to move a player? Never, as far as I know.
And he lost 2 players on waivers if I remember right. Fabbro, which was a big mistake, though a lot of blame for that goes to Brunette (Who is probably even worse at his job than Trotz). And this, which is nothing.
Edit: Now I remember, he paid to move Cody Glass. It didn't cost much and Glass does suck. So not a huge stain. Many, many better examples of Barry's ineptitude

He is a warm body, check. He’s not awful, just kinda there, just a shade below being a useful forward. Like a version of Jimmy Vesey I don’t strongly dislike.

I wonder if there are shenanigans here that would cause Hinostroza to miss the AHL clear day for Milwaukee though? With the break, Hartman’s suspension might carry past that?
