Yeah we're not taking on a top 5 worst contract in the league just to get something for Miller.

Zatkoff will hold the fort until Quick is back. The injury will hurt the Kings, no question about it, but there is no point in taking on more cap hit for a veteran goalie in a trade. The Kings, overall, play a good defensive game. They just need to tighten things up more until Quick comes back.

I really don't see Zatkoff holding any forts...he's a decent enough back-up only when used rarely, but the more he plays, the worse he plays. There's a reason Pens fans never had any faith in the guy and he was the perpetual back-up last year, even when the starter got hurt.

That said...I have to agree on the cap situation. The Kings can't wreck the cap to fit a goalie who isn't going to play once Quick comes back...still, I have very little faith in Zatkoff doing much positive. Regardless you don't make a move until you really have to. I'd give Zatkoff & Budaj October at least, by that point it should be a little easier to figure out when Quick will be back...plus Condon can likely be had for a conditional draft pick once Murray comes back for the Pens.

If Miller were a part of a package for a young defenseman or winger it would make sense. I doubt they trade him off otherwise. Of course this is a wacky bunch of comedians trying to get laughs, not players. I suggest LA waits a while, VC might accidentally waive Demko.

Yeah, any goalie has to be either on waivers or an expiring contract.
