I wouldn't call it predatory. That's because to me, "predatory" in the context of hockey implies some kind of intent by the player performing whatever the action in question is. I don't believe Mikkola had any intent for things to end up end up as poorly as they did, since as I've been saying, I don't consider him a dirty player. He judged the situation poorly and did something stupid based on him having poorly judged the situation with a snap decision. "Reckless" is a more appropriate word to describe his situation.
He's on his knees face towards the board and mikkola pushes him head first into the board. This wasn't a case of a cross check with a player trying to keep the puck away from the checker he was already in a vulnerable position to begin with. Predatory to me is seeing a player already in a bad position and going forward with the hit anyways.

And it wasn’t like he was in the act. He was already down and THEN he decided to hit him.

No, you sure as shit don't. The puck was completely out of Girgensons reach. There was no possible way for Girgensons to make any sort of play here. There was zero reason for Mikkola to go for a hit here, it served no purpose at all, especially since the opponent was not in a postion to be hit, which is the first step you have to take into consideration before making a hit in the first place.
Where do you think the puck was - if not right between Girgensons' legs (which is de facto within his reach)? Not defending the hit, just pointing out that you are making things up which substantially diminishes your credibility.

No suspension because Girgenson got up way too fast.

If hagel was suspended no way in hell mikola and tkahcuk should not have been given a game. Especially tkachuk with all his dirty stuff and a repeat offender.
