The Kings aren't gaining much in terms of cap relief, and they can thank Glen Sather and the Rangers for that one.

I have an incredibly hard time believing, of all people on this planet, Dean Lombardi only had 9 words to say to Richards before shipping him off.

What I do think happened was Mike heard those first 9 words then muted the phone for the next 999.

I highly doubt he was on double secret probation. He had to know this was likely coming and Dean just let him know he was pulling the trigger.

Lombardi is known to be a Billy Beane type GM when it comes to letting players know, etc. That has been a complain from players and agents before...I think he does it on purpose though, as a strategy in some cases.
