Wow.

First, we unloaded the "Blue and White" diseased players in the Calgary and Anaheim deals (Stajan, Hagman, Blake, Mayers, White, Toskala etc.)

Then LACK plagued and creeped into the Toronto Maple Leafs bloodlines. They are finally dismembered.

Is the prophecy complete, are we finally going to make the playoffs? Or will The HOLEzer be our next obstacle?

PS:

Man Nonis has really cleaned out the Americans. When Burke was here it was like Team USA(B-Team), now we only have 4 I believe, but the good ones(Liles is yet to be seen)

Lets hope he is claimed to avoid an amnesty buyout, and most importantly free up cap space for the Leafs for the trade deadline.

Otherwise between Connolly at $4.75 mil and Komisarek at $4.25 mil playing in the AHL and counting against Leafs cap its truly handcuffing Nonis' hands on improving the team for a potential playoff run. Complete waste of cap space and money to the Leafs.

Nonis continues to clean house in year 1 of his tenure, and more "addition by subtraction" improvement for the Leafs.

then we can buy out liles in the summer?
cant think who else

wait a minute....... ends with an 'I'

Can't wait for him to be picked up, play well then watch the ones who hated him complain that we let him go , ignoring what they were saying before

He will get claimed, I.E, teams needing to reach cap floor, also teams making a case to crack the playoffs in a shortened season, knowing their Is only about 18 games left to play, people won't mind taking a gamble for the rest of this season and the next.

Good luck to Komi but its time to move on and get ourself into a good cap situation.

Komi played quite well in the limited icetime he had this season. Heard he worked very hard on his game during the offseason/lockout so I'm not surprised. Wish he would have gotten a fair shake this year, but that window has closed.

This is like some bad ass Greek mythology going on here lol. People said "release the kraken" when Gards got called up, but I think he's the opposite of some Chthonic or aquatic beast. He's our pegasus (sprouted from a root of evil, Holzer who shall now be called Gorgon).

Kadri is Ballerophon/Perseus.

I wonder if Anaheim would bite. Good luck to the guy wherever he lands.

Komi probably asked for this with being passed over every time. Knowing he is going to be bought out this summer he needs to play to show other teams what he has. Sitting in the press box just lowered his value every day. If he is picked up great but if not he will still be playing hard for the Marlies for a spot on another team next year. I wonder what happens if he is hurt in the AHL?

Talk about picking up the slack for Burke.

Someone has to take responsibility for taking out the trash and cleaning up the mess that was left behind. ;)

Nonis unfortunately inherited it with the job, but is doing a nice job dealing with the unenviable task, as I'm sure he would rather be focusing on building up as opposed to tearing down when prioritizing his to do list.

Cross your fingers someone (highly unlikely) claims Komisarek as I'm sure Nonis already exhausted his time and resources trying to give him away for free, unwilling to pick up any of his salary.

Interesting, 7 d-men with an open roster spot... I wonder if Colborne gets a call up and some playing time?

That's what I'm wondering, but not really a center spot for him.

Unless we do something like trading Bozak for depth player + pick, move Kadri up to first line with Kessel, Grabo remains in shutdown, Colborne new sheltered line center with McClemant on the 4th line. Or trade Grabo, Bozak stays #1, Mclemant shutdown, Kadri + Colborne sheltered ish minutes with Colborne getting the easiest ones.

Don't know. But I will stay tuned to find out :)

I wonder if Ottawa will claim him, given that Methot is now DTD.

And what's the reasoning for some of you thinking we will call up Holzer again? Because of the current 22 man roster?

We will never forget thee. Amazing that not even 6 months into being GM Nonis has managed to clear all of them off the roster?

I hope someone picks him up not only for the fact that we'd just unload him, but just so he can rejuvenate his career.
