I optimistically expected a little bump in scoring from Ace before the season. I know he’s been shuffled up and down the lineup but right now he’s on pace to finish worse than last season in all major categories.

Last season: 11-14-25 in 81 GP
This season: 4-3-7 in 46 GP
Pace: 7-5-12 in 82 GP

He's not the impact player for his size youd really want given his play this year. He gets more and more predictable in the offensive zone with the puck, sub par shot, and not a needle mover. I was hoping for the same but it's not happening. I wouldn't mind him sticking around but he shouldn't be a guarantee in the lineup if we rebuild the bottom six.

He's bad. He's got speed but that's about it. He's like Point or Hagel but without any talent. He has no offense, no defense, no physicality, no penalty kill. Winnipeg waved him for a reason. He does nothing.
We need a whole new bottom 6 next season maybe Chaffee can stay on 4th line/13 forward

Ace has had a few dynamic moments with Jake but I feel like the whole team can say that. I just don't see the value in keeping Ace around once his contract runs out. I'd make case for him were he younger (like 22) but this dude is older than Cirelli.

He really toned his game down compared to last year. I think he missed training camp due to injury so maybe he just hasn't quite found it for whatever reason. He has no playmaking ability or vision and holds onto pucks too long, but if he can recapture his form from last season he can still be so effective on the bottom lines.

One thing I like about him is that he doesn't hesitate to shoot when he has a chance. Definitely doesn't have the same spark as before, he was one of the best agitators in the league and was one of the most noticeable players on the ice most nights. Could see him being moved.

Spot on. Especially the holding and shooting aspects. Though, his shot is sub par so it rarely matters. He's a gnat around the net and thinks he's gonna score a wraparound every shift cause that's the only area and move he's noticeable... and it never works.

He doesn’t try to get into the scoring areas like he did last year is the big difference, probably a mental thing. He’s still an elite skater and pest, but if he’s not trying to do his patented wrap around, he’s not much of a scoring threat.
