I like Amadio. Never should have let him walk.

2.6M looks pricey but he's a solid 3rd liner in his prime.

Have to think this means Joseph is on his way out.

Yeah, I don't see how the money works unless they have a way to dump Joseph.

In case they forgot, they need to sign Pinto.

Sens legend returns.

Considering some of the contracts that other bottom six players are getting, this seems pretty solid.

If my math is right, Pinto @ 5M would leave the team around 300K under the cap without any further moves. I'm guessing either Pinto or Joseph are gone.

His goal total the last 2 seasons is just about what they needed to improve from their potential borderline 3rd-4th line depth. Good signing.

We had him a few years ago and he was nothing special. Seems like an overpayment for someone with like 20 something career high in points and most of his years were split between NHL and AHL.

Did he really impress people? He couldn't even crack our terrible team lol.

He looked good with us. Good skater, high compete, a touch of skill. I was really confused why we didn't retain him.

I remember him looking like a tweener. Interchangeable 4th liner with AHL callup.

Then the next year, I watched a couple of his games in Toronto(I think one was against Ottawa) and I was happy he wasn't on our roster then..

And either this past year or the year before, he started off really hot (I think he was leading Vegas in goals a month in or something) so I made sure to look for him and he touched the puck a few times and did nothing much and have watched almost a dozen games or so, and never saw a difference maker in the bottom 6. Just a warm body. I see he put some ok numbers...but I don't see anything more than replacement 4th liner every time I see him. Like a Chartier...like a Highmore... Either he's inconsistent AF and I happen to always watch bad games, or he's not much different than those guys.

I would just expect for almost 3 mil for 3 years, you should get more of a difference maker or a guy who moves the needle on the third line or something. For example, many people thought Joseph was our best forward in many given games at the start of the year.

I don't think amadio has any skill or ability that would have him be our best forward in any random game.

Compared to our third liners of old like havlat(I understand he wasn't a true 3rd liner) to guys like Fisher to guys like Kelly, our third line vets seem to suck these days lol we always scrap the bottom of the barrel to fill our holes.

On tsn they keep showing our lineup and it looks so bad lol...much worse than the last couple years.

I hope not, I’m in the keep Joseph camp, speedy player and PK specialist at reasonable 3rd line value considering he can move up to cover for injuries or spread out the threats.

Math doesn’t seem good. Do we have space for pinto without another trade here?

Having to trade Joseph to make room for Pinto because we signed too many players in free agency.

I'm sure people will be as kind to Staios as they were to Dorion.
I sure as f*** won’t

I mean we had the guy not long ago and he was not good enough on a rebuilding team. His stint on a championship team made him a NHL player but 3 years 2.6 AAV? Dear Alfie, help us.

Have to think this means Joseph is on his way out.

Joseph >> Amadio though

If that’s the end result of all this then it’s not very encouraging. I don’t think this team is going anywhere and will need a new rebuild with 2-3 years

If the Pinto rumour is true, I think it’s pretty much inevitable

We can’t afford years of incompetence during a rebuild; the first few years of accumulating picks is not hard but it’s what you do after. This rebuild is getting really close to a failure

I think Amadaio is a better player in most facets of the game.
Joseph is faster and higher energy but Amadaio is more versatile and more skilled.
