He should watch lotr at home with his wife and start preparing a steak when this scene comes.

You guys are extremely overreactive. Zibby always starts slow.
Last year he was abyssmal in the first half of the season and finished in beastmode.

Id rather a guy who starts slow and finishes strong than the latter.

Free Mika! I mean he's on pace for about 70 points.

What we really need is Laf to get back to the form he was in the final 12 games of the season last year and get him up there.
That's the difference though. We know what Mika is capable of.... He's also the catalyst for Laf. This is the Laf we know in the NHL.

His final 12 were stronger, but it requires Omnivore Mika.

I think the “Mika starts slow” narrative is a little misleading.

He started slow last year. But prior to that, I seem to remember him usually being pretty great to start every season. I also found he was much more consistent when we first acquired him, only to have his game derailed by injuries every year.

I think Mika is missing Buch more than EdJovo. He'll figure it out. He still has his chemistry with Kreider, but he needs someone on that line who can pass the puck. Kreider is more of a shooter.

Lafreniere was looking like that guy at the end of last season. And as well as the third line it playing, it seems like the success is based more on Chytil and Gauthier causing havoc and crashing the net rather than anything Lafreniere is doing. It might be time to give Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kreider the same treatment Panarin-Strome-Kakko got, which was that they were going to stay together as a unit until they made it work.

Get pucks deep. Get pucks to the net. And, uh…

The more I’ve thought about it, Mika and Frodo really are a good analogue. They’re both soft spoken with big sad puppy eyes and often just wander around looking lost and melancholy.

Can we hound @vzmercogliano to settle this for us...

I'll honestly feel a lot better if I knew Mika was eating steak.
