Basically they are a playoff contention team but need more out of them if they are going to go on another deep run.

Drury will need to address what is needed at the TDL to help make that happen.

Fans have been far far worse than any individual. Just brutal agendas ruining the discourse on a pretty successful first half. Let's turn it around and get some mojo going.
Agreed. Sadly this place is pretty impossible to be around most of the time. It used to have some good hockey talk but it’s been taken over by agenda driven loud mouths who I’m fairly certain the majority have never played hockey let alone at a level good enough to evaluate anything.

That being said- Blais, Laf and Hajek are my 3 F’s for the first half.

Fox and Schneider are my two A’s

Coaching staff has been average C to D range but I still think Gallant has done well with this group but his decisions could be far better. Especially in overtime.

Having this thread that grades all the players is quite literally a discourse.

If you want to have a separate thread about fans, feel free to create a Mid-season Boardies thread.

Holy shit, you guys.

Zibanejad somehow became the board whopping boy real quick. Kreider is jealous.

Anything less than A for Fox is egregious.

You'll notice I've given some high ratings to players lower in the lineup. I feel a lot of the depth has exceeded expectations. Some of the players that needed to meet expectations, however, are falling very short.

My ratings weigh expectations heavily but that also isn't the only thing. For example, Fox is meeting expectations but him existing is an A. Hajek is also meeting expectations but he's the worst player in the league so I can't give him any points for not falling short, nor do I think it's physically possible for him to fall short.

Nope I laughed at 2, he has 5 marvelous points. He got good grades across the board except from a couple sly guys, jokesters to to speak.

Can’t really give a guy who is supposed to be a top 6 RW with 5 points a good grade.

Fox is the A+
Chytil gets a A. Give him PP1 and people would be creaming their pants over his production.
Hajek, at this point, is irrelevant, but there is no way he deserves an F. He may have had and D game or two, but he was acceptable the majority of the time.
Trouba gets an F-.

He’s barely played, his analytics in what’s his rookie season still blow away Kakko & Laf’s in their 4th & 3rd seasons. 91st percentile in the NHL defensively and 62nd offensively. You’ll see as he turns it on the second half with steady ice time.

Bias aside, this is objectively correct. He's looked like he's belonged since he's gone back into the lineup.

We are a playoff team but been fortunate not to have many man games lost except to Kratsov mainly where as a lot of other teams have lost a lot of man games to key players.

To comment on Kravtsov in particular. He is an offensive player. That is the strongest part of his game and he's been playing a lot with Trocheck and Panarin and Artemi is our best set up forward.

Vitali has 2 goals in 21 games with 17 shots on goal. Something isn't quite computing yet. He should have more shots particularly playing so much with Artemi.....and if you're not getting shots on goal you're not scoring goals.

The rest of his game has been fine but IMO he's got a ways to go to where I'm looking at him as a reliable contributor.

Fox gets an A
Panarin, Laf, Blais get Ds
Everyone else varies from B- to B+
